We had an absolutely amazing stay at Whisky Point Resort, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!! A special shoutout to Mufaris and Murthala for their outstanding and precise service—they went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. The highlight of our stay was the incredible food and drinks. The iced tea was the best we’ve ever tasted, and the pizza was absolutely divine! Every bite and sip transported us to a place of pure bliss. Whisky Point Resort truly feels like a little paradise nestled within an already paradise-like island. The serene ambiance, combined with the warmth and hospitality of the staff, makes this a must-visit destination. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience. We’ll be back for sure!

The location was great. If you don't want to stay in crowded Arugambay this is the right place for you. You have your own pirvate beach, a little cabana, good food at the restaurant and it is the cleanest hotel we have been in Sri Lanka.

Everything was perfect, and as always, everything started and ended with the people. Catherine and Michel are amazing people, with a huge heart and a big smile. Always ready to help, with good advice and help with the surfboards, renting a bike, renting a tuk-tuk or any other matter that makes an ordinary vacation so amazing. Another thing, the hotel staff, smiling, polite and kind. It is clear that the place is so important to them as if it were their own home. The place is meticulously cared for down to the smallest detail and this, in my experience, is extremely rare in Sri Lanka. The cabins are cozy, air-conditioned and ventilated. The beds are extremely comfortable, the showers are spacious and partially exposed to the sky and the coconut halves scattered around. Hot water 24/7 is simply magic. The pool is simply amazing, pleasant and clean at all times, spotless. The location - on the pottuvil Point strip and within walking distance of the point itself, which is one of the best in Sri Lanka. Even beginners will enjoy this beach. Even those who do not surf and want to relax will greatly enjoy the special and quiet location. The restaurant is run by a local family and serves varied and delicious food at completely reasonable prices and with meticulous service. You can eat in the restaurant or next to the room. In conclusion, my brother and I stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and I have no doubt that we will return to this magical place again. The staff were amazing! They were really nice and applied to all of our requests. The hotel is in a great location, with yoga classes (for extra charge) and the room was big and comfortable. We had a great stay. The air conditioning is great and new. We would definitely choose it again on our next visit. Highly recommend!

Excellent location, 10 minutes by foot from Arugam Bay, Pasarichenai beach and city center. This homestay is outside enough to avoid the crowd and noise from the city center. It's run by a very sweet family who offered us drinks at our arrival. This very rustic place also has a restaurant with tasty food and affordable prices (recommend the home-made rottis). For those who wish a nice, calm home stay outside while being able to enjoy Arugam Bay. NB: They also have a cheap tuktuk you can use to get around.

This was such an amazing place to stay. Location was perfect , very close to the beach & restaurants. The room was spacious , the bed very comfortable and with a mosquito net. Plus a large bathroom with hot water. The highlight of the stay was the relaxation .Great value for money . I highly recommend bay dreams we hope to return one day soon !

The most amazing stay highly recommended!* ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stayed at *Doppel Gangs* in Arugam Bay and had the most unforgettable experience. The hotel is in the *perfect location* close enough to the main road (just a 1-minute walk!) to access everything easily, but tucked away enough to enjoy peace and quiet without the crowds and noise. The hotel is *by far the cleanest* I’ve stayed at in Sri Lanka, with daily housekeeping that keeps everything fresh. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. There’s also a *really nice pool*, perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. But what truly made this stay exceptional was the *incredible staff*, especially *Hibed*. We were a group of 8 girls and one boy, and from the moment we arrived, Hibed went *above and beyond* to make us feel safe, welcomed, and cared for. His kindness, thoughtfulness, and attentiveness were beyond anything we expected. He was always there to help whether it was organizing *tuk tuk rides* at *any time, to any place, with any notice*, fixing a ripped pair of pants with a local seamstress, or surprising us with freshly made yogurt. Every little thing he did added to the magic of our stay. I’ve stayed at many hotels around the world, but I’ve *never* encountered a staff that had such a genuine impact on my overall experience. *Thank you, Doppel Gangs, for an incredible stay. We’ll never forget it.* Can't wait to come back!

You are more likely to meet a European than a local here.

You are more likely to meet a European than a local here. This is definately not a reflection on Sri Lankan culture, however the beach town is slow and quiet (realtively speaking) and there are plenty of shops and restaurants. And of coure, the surf is consistent and the water warm. It's a winner for a beach holiday.

The best feature of Arugam Bay is the surrounding jungle,...

The best feature of Arugam Bay is the surrounding jungle, lakes and lagoons. The main beach is very busy but other beaches, such as Peanut Farm are less crowded, Do thye Lagoon Safari and a park safari but also try surfing and relaxing on the beach.

still relatively not crowded by the locals due to the distance, and miles of unspoiled, beautiful, isolated beaches to be found. Surfers paradise, but the seas can be a bit rough for the average sea goer. accommodation can be a bit overpriced during season but you can find some reasonable accommodation if you search and ask around.

Best And Best Place + ❤️Hidden Gem in Arugum Bay!❤️Location is perfect to everything you need (restaurants, beaches, convenience stores). Property nestled well within nature with a Huge tree keeping the property cool in the afternoons, a hangout area and a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal. Marina Way staff are the friendliest I've met in Arugumbay and work hard everyday to make sure the property is always looking neat and clean! Thank you to Ameen and his great team for being so accommodating!

The hotel is situated on a side road so you do not hear the constant noise of cars and restaurants on the main street. Still, it is very close to everything ( a couple of minutes walk to the beach and main street). Our host gave us a lot of recommendations of where to eat and rent surfs, which all turned out to be great. He also took care of our laundry and was very helpful and a delightful person. Definitely very good value for money in Arugam Bay, I would stay here again.

We loved everything about this place! The staff is something else - so kind, helpful and welcoming. They make the best breakfast with everything one could dream of :-) Thanks to you three for making our one week stay so memorable. Besides that the location of the hotel was priceless: close to everything (the beach, restaurants etc.) yet so quiet and private. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Arugam Bay! And we’d love to come back.

Great place on the beach, close to everything, each room with hamac, see view was great. I would recommend to everyone that wants to experience the real Arugam Bay, except for family with small kids due to the noise of the events at the hotel and around in the evening
