The rustic charm and quirkiness of the treehouse exceeded expectations. The staff we’re fantastic and took us on a private safari in Udawalawe (about 25 minutes away) where we got so close to the elephants. They also arranged a guided canoe trip on the nearby lake - sadly no bathing elephants this time but plenty of other wildlife to see. The evening meal we had there was perhaps the best curry I have ever eaten and all of this at exceptionally good prices. We spoke to several people who went to Yala and spent far more, saw far less and didn’t seem get anywhere near the experience we did.

My partner and I stayed two nights in Glimra Eco lodge and this was a true pleasure. Roshani and her husband are such amazing hosts and so helpful, it couldn’t be any better. They did everything to make our stay memorable. From cooking delicious meals, to arranging a safari for us in Udawalawe, which is cheaper compared to the usual prices. Roshani also took us to a place nearby to see the beautiful sunset from up above a hill. The views from the ecolodge are amazing. One morning we could even see an elephant having a bath on the other side of the lake!

‘The perfect place to stay before or after a safari when visiting udawalawe. Wonderful Tree Hose Iya very clean and beautiful. Ahan and his family are great hosts, we did the safari with Shan too and had an unforgettable time! Highly recommend!!!

We had a very nice stay, very welcoming and helping host, big room, nice swimming pool, top breakfasts, quite surroundings.... Ideal spot to start your Udawalawa safari! We got really spoiled on this stay.

It was a pleasure to stay at Leel's Safari Cottage! Leel, Nameli and Leel's Mother are such heartful persons, we had a lot of fun together! The rooms are very new and have a nice view to the garden which is wunderful! Make the Safari Tour with Lee, he has very good knowledge, and gives his best to give you the most special experience. He showed us so many animals! Also the food his mother and wife are cooking is very delicious! His taxi driver sameera is also great.We highly recommend this place, and hope we come back soon! The stay was absolutely perfect! I wouldn’t change one thing about this place. We stayed for one night and from start to finish, the service and hospitality was exceptional, we were truly treated like family. The food was cooked fresh to order and absolutely divine, and we were fed until we couldn’t eat any more! The bed was super comfy and all the bathroom facilities were really good. The safari was great too. I don’t often write reviews but this place deserves one! The owner even called to speak to us just before we left to make sure we had a good stay!

We had a wonderful experience at the recently opened tranquil resort located in close proximity to Udalawawe Park. The manager provided excellent service, catering to our requests, dining preferences, and safari tour arrangements. The highlight was the expansive swimming pool, equipped with comfortable daybeds and enchanting night lights. We definitely plan to return in the future.

This was one of our favourite places we stayed on our entire trip! The cabins are extremely comfortable and have beautiful views of the river, we loved spending our evenings sat on our balcony watching the birds and monkeys. The host is extremely helpful, make sure you book a safari through him! Food was also fantastic.

Staff were amazing. Food was exceptional. Had the vegetarian Sri Lankan curry, and it was the best of the trip.

Offering a restaurant, Hotel Gayan's provides free WiFi access in its public areas. The Udawalawa National Park entrance is just a minute drive away.

Food cooked by the host’s mother was one of the best meals we’ve had on our 2 month trip! So great we asked for it for breakfast too. Location was very close to national park and we were given a safari for a good price much cheaper than we’d seen online. Host also drove us to our hotel in Ella the next day! Room was spacious and beds comfy.
