When you enter the place , it is out of the world. The owner came and welcomed us. When we entered the villa we’ve been greeted with a special freshest passion fruit juice. The outside shows a beautiful garden and a large Infiniti pool. But the highlight is the lake. Then at night they arranged traditional Sri Lankan food which was very tasty, the staff was very friendly with a highly qualified chef. Next morning we could enjoy the swimming pool and made after delicious breakfast the pontoon on the lake in front. We will come definitely back and stay longer !

My family (including teenage boys) and I had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming and produced a delicious supper and breakfast for us. We were positively surprised by the beautiful setting - if I could post some photos on this site, I definitely would! The property is surrounded by beautiful palm trees, wonderful fruit trees around the back and amazing spices, as well as a luscious green paddy field, all of which the host kindly showed us. The property is opposite a very pretty river and not far from the Gal Oya lake safari start. Would definitely recommend!

You'll love staying here! We arrived after a long and stressful drive by tuktuk and felt instantly at home! The hosts organized everything for us and were very helpful and caring. Great value for money! If we ever come back to Ampara, we'll definitely stay there again.

Food was excellent! Always fresh and so tasty. We appreciate that the chef adjusted the menu for us. Our juices were delicious everyday. The bathroom is amazing! So unique, we were very impressed. We loved the way the bed was made everyday, so creative and beautiful. The staff were very nice and attentive. Thank you Keshan for taking care of us during breakfast, lunch and dinner and Dinuka for organising our excursions which were out of this world. Highly recommend this accommodation!

We LOVED Gal Oya lodge. It was such a highlight of our trip - off grid bliss paired with gorgeous facilities, delicious food, lovely swimming pool and fab activities. We will definitely be back! The staff went above and beyond, especially Kalana who was the most exceptional guide on our hike up Shadow Mountain.
