The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location faced to beautiful paddy field. Top tip : Hotel owner Mrs.Dilhani arranged our Safari and made us delicious breakfast packed in a containers to carry with us while on safari.We had an absolutely brilliant day and I would love to recommend White House Inn - Thissamaharama to other travellers. Lovely spot to relax on the terrace after a hot day, we had a really good night's sleep and the most delicious rice and curry. It's a good starting point for a safari and you'll get all the help you need from here. The staff is super friendly and helpful!

An exceptional family stay, in December 2024, this was a newly built facility. The family run hotel had a homely atmosphere, everyone was super friendly and polite. The owner has put a lot of thought into the layout and details of the whole hotel. The room are expansive, very comfortable and immaculately clean. The private balconies offer great views over the picturesque rice fields and beyond to the lake. The gardens are teaming with birds. The pool is well maintained, and very welcome after a long journey. The food was super fresh and very tasty, home cooked in a very clean open air kitchen. The owner arranged our Yala safari. We had a very enjoyable stay, in hide sight we should have stayed longer.

I will give this a 10/10 out of how much the owner provided for me. The view outside is amazing, just in front of the lake. So peaceful! So the room was okay. But the best thing for me was that the owner provided me a free tour around the place, watching sunset, crocodiles, bats and owls. He also took me to the atm, supermarket, and picked me up from the bus when arriving. Everything for free. And I can also recommend going with the safari that he is providing. That guide was also amazing, experienced, and affordable.

The owner is a fantastic man, he was very attentive and respectful. He helped organise transport to Yala and then from Yala, as well as our Safari. He got an excellent Safari driver, which is the key to a good Safari experience. The room was lovely, and dinners were brilliant too. The area has a lake nearby and the locals who live nearby are so welcoming and friendly. I wish we had stayed longer.

This is set in the most beautiful area! Right near a lagoon with so much wildlife as well as nearby local villages. The owner was so helpful and did everything he could to make our stay the best! His wife cooked a brilliant sri Lankan meal for us, including Buffalo curd for desert, which was delicious. He organized a great safari for us at Yala. He also took us out for a tour for about 2 hours around the local area and showed us local wildlife and other important parts, which was amazing! So pretty! This was a small cost and so worth it! If we had time, we would have stayed longer. Beds comfortable, rooms beautiful, lovely balcony at the front of the property. It's one of our favorite stays!

This hotel's staff gave us a warm hospitality. We appreciate it!! This hotel view was incredible. We got a clean, comfortable room. This hotel is situated in middle of a village but near to the main road. This place was so peaceful. They arranged us a yala safari and it was also awesome. Perfect!

The White House Inn is a fantastic place to stay in...

The White House Inn is a fantastic place to stay in Thissamaharama. It’s situated in a calm and natural setting, making it perfect for relaxation. The inn is also very close to the Yala National Park, which is great for those looking to go on safari. The hotel is clean and comfortable, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious lobby area is a nice spot to unwind. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, offering excellent service throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the food. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the Sri Lankan dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the White House Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
