We stayed in Lankavatara 9 days and we had a wonderful and restoring experience. We choose the location because is very quite and immerse in the nature and after 10 days going around the island we needed a break before leaving. What make our stay unforgettable has been also the staff, all are very helpful and professional, from the staff at the reception, the staff at the restaurant, the staff who clean, and the staff at the spa. Thank you from be so kind and make our stay incredible.

The best stay we had in Sri Lanka! The room and all the facilities were so comfortable. Room was a bit small but enough to rest, bathroom was enormous and probably the best I've seen in Sri Lanka. The host was very attentive, he welcomed us with fruit from his own garden - lovely!

The Sri Lankan breakfast was plentiful and with a lot of variety. Our room was spacious, comfortable and looked great. It had a fridge, kettle, place for hanging clothes and a rack for our baggage. We could adjust the air-conditioning and the ceiling fan together for a comfortable temperature.

The design of the hobbit house was wonderful. You stay in your own secluded space surrounded by lush trees. The service levels were exceptional!! Every day you saw this beautiful family be so thoughtful and kind. They were genuinely happy to do anything to make your time there special. They set you up at an outside table setting that was beautifully decorated with candles and flowers. Packed us a breakfast for our early morning safari. Hirushan is amazing and will always make everything easier. Highly recommend this stay.

Amazing place with the pool on the lagoon, nice and clean rooms, we saw a lot of monkeys, the breakfast at the pool, very nice to have a gym area. The staff helped us to book a scooter, they were all very kind !

1. Loc- Just amazing! Right on the beach, open your eyes in the mrng with a beautiful sea view, turquoise coloured waves welcomes you just 10 meters away from your balcony. 2. Luxury- If u r not a tourist with camping addiction & can’t survive the nature at its basic form, then u might find property difficult to adjust with. It offers very basic amenities which are required & those you want can be requested by the owner & is generally arranged immediately. I stayed at Beach view bunglow, it was not an AC room (nvr felt its need), visited in Dec, grnd floor had washroom & first floor had 2 double beds with mosquito nets. 3. Food- The cafe is great for a quiet and serene view bite. It offers amazing & fresh sea food with liqour.

Lots of gorgeous beaches nearby don’t stay on the main town beach. Take a bus to silent beach / Goyambokka beach / red beach / pallikudwua etc - you could walk from the town to Red beach and Pallikafwua too in 30 minutes Free sunbeds if you eat/ drink at the local beach bars at every beach

Tangalle is a cozy, small city where you find whatever you need. A variety of beaches in and around in both directions, some of them really hidden gems, but also quiet family beaches where you can bring your kids.

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great.

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

Tangalle is a mix of typical large commercial local Sri Lankan town buzz combined with touristy beach / restaurant / bar area. Very laid back along that 'strip', many bars and restaurants vying for business so you can be selective.

Perfect place to relax by the beaches, some of them are like or similar a near private beach type; but, difficult to swim. Generally, the waves and current are rough and sometime dangerous to rocky beaches; in early morning time, 9-10 am, waves and current can be managed to some extent....

It’s more of a local sleepy town and less touristy than the rest of the south coast. Lots of great beaches and family run restaurants. I could have easily used it as a base and stayed longer had the weather been better.

One of my best stays in Sri Lanka yet ! Ishara and his wife have a beautiful home surrounded by nature, which is only a five minute walk from a beautiful and secluded beach! The room was very big and clean, as well as the bathroom. They went above and beyond to help with everything and made an amazing dinner for me, including teaching me how to make it. In the end they even drove me to my next destination. If you are in tangalle, you have to stay here, 10/10 recommend. Will definitely be back !!

I got nothing but great words to say about this place. Everything is clean and the hosts are some of the nicest people you’ll meet. They offered us fresh coconut when arriving, lent their bike, and showed so many places worth visiting around Tangalle. Here you’ll experience true Sri Lankan hospitality. The location is also great. There are many small shops around and is very close to the center. The beach is a short walk away. Don’t think twice before booking. You won’t be disappointed!

Luaya Beach is the best place we've stayed in Sri Lanka so far. Just 2 minutes walk from Tangalle Beach (really peaceful and quiet). The bed is really comfy and the bedroom/bathroom are both super clean. The garden is a lovely extra, such a nice place to eat breakfast. We recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast - all the things you would want. Owner was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We hope to come back.

We had an amazing stay at this guest house! The hosts were incredibly friendly and hospitable. The room was very clean and spacious, and we felt right at home. The family was very helpful and we enjoyed speaking with them. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka, and we always looked forward to it. Overall, it was a beautiful and comfortable stay near Tangalle beach. We highly recommend this guest house!

This was definitely one of the best accommodations we have had in Sri Lanka. Sanu is a great, welcoming host and gave us a lot of great tips to explore Tangalle and the surrounding beaches. The room was nice, clean and spacious, with a comfortable outdoor shower. The pool area is great to relax and we enjoyed the breakfast. Would 100% recommend!
