Excellent location. food was delicious made with love. we had dinner and breakfast, it was fabulous. Attentive staff, smiling and courteous. Beautiful decor throughout and attention to detail made our stay extra special. We only stayed 1 night before going to yala safari but would have loved to stay a little longer to enjoy this resort. the owner is a jolly fellow and made us feel welcome. Wonderful experience. Thank you. we will return 1 day. Best wishes.

I will give this a 10/10 out of how much the owner provided for me. The view outside is amazing, just in front of the lake. So peaceful! So the room was okay. But the best thing for me was that the owner provided me a free tour around the place, watching sunset, crocodiles, bats and owls. He also took me to the atm, supermarket, and picked me up from the bus when arriving. Everything for free. And I can also recommend going with the safari that he is providing. That guide was also amazing, experienced, and affordable.

It was really nice. The surroundings of the hotel were amazing, the owner explained everything so we didn’t miss a thing. We walked around the both lakes near the hotel and saw crocodiles, all kind of birds, etc. the property es super clean and they serve you coffee and tea whenever you want. The owner and his family were really kind, it shows how much they care a about everyone having a good stance. Really friendly, we really liked talking with them. Also no words for the amazing food they cooked. Really nice experience.

This is the place that exceeds your expectations! All the reviews that you read is not too good to be true- it’s a real reflection from people that experienced the stay at the Elegant Lake House. From the first step you’re greeted by Randy and his exceptional service. The property is beautiful, surrounded by nature- perfect place to relax and disconnect. We definitely suggest to stay more than one night if you can, because we promise you won’t want to leave. Randy has a lot of knowledge to share about his village and nature and he gladly does it for his guests by showing around. The food that they prepare is delicious! The view was wonderful. You can see from the terrace the Debarawewa lake with its wild life (water buffalos, lots of birds and sometimes crocodiles). The hosts were very nice and attentive to our needs. I also enjoyed the tasty food. The host also arranged the safari and I was picked up directly from the accommodation. I didn't have to worry about anything. The room was clean and had air conditioning.

The dedication of the the staff at Village Mango Resort was fantastic. They organised our safari tour prepared breakfast to take with us at 0430am. We returned for an exceptional lunch the absolute best home cooked meal we have had in Sri Lanka the Aubergine curry was the best.

Great place! My friend and I stayed in this two room home - he was in the bottom room and I was in the top room so we had the whole place to ourselves! The rooms are huge, both with large outdoor space. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are modern, and the property is beautiful. The host, Mithila, is super friendly and helpful. She booked us a well-priced safari at Yala and we were lucky enough to see a leopard! She also said she could order us food to eat at the place, but we decided to go out instead.
