We absolutely loved our stay at Komorebi Weligama. From the moment we arrived, the staff and Enrico made us feel so welcome and made us feel at home — they were incredibly attentive to all our needs and ensure we were comfortable. One of the highlights of our stay was getting to experience the Enrico’s carbonara firsthand — probably the best one that we had. So delicious! The room is cozy and clean. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly located 5 mins walk to beach. The price is excellent for the quality of the stay, making it an even better experience. And of course, the two kittens are so cute and made our stay even more special. We’re already looking forward to coming back soon!

The villa very close to the Welligama beach which is ideal if you want to have some drinks with some breeze looking at surfers or book some surfing lessons (well worth it!). There are also a number of food courts. Most importantly, the staff make you feel very welcome. Not only do they provide good service (what you expect from a Villa), but they are also observant and friendly. Even though we went as a couple, I think this Villa is well worth for Families, friends or solo travelers because of the friendly staff and the beautiful location. The Breakfast was amazing my stay. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The entire property felt well maintained. The Pool is cleaned frequently and nice. We definitely will return to this great Villa.

I think that the number one value of Rise is the staff and service. Everyone in the hotel, starting with the owners and all the employees are very friendly, and caring, and make an extra effort to make the guests as comfortable as possible. We stayed at Rise for 3 weeks, and it was a perfect place for a long stay with some work we need to do online. It's close to the best surfing point t Weligama, they serve an excellent island-vibe breakfast each morning, and the rooms are really beautiful, spacious, and clean. I think that it's a great value for money, way beyond our expectations.

A lovely boutique style hotel in a perfect location. The hotel and its atmosphere exceeded our expectations, and we ended up staying longer and even returning back at the end of our trip. Tranquil and beautiful beach, surf breaks, relaxed beach bars right in front. The pool area is luxury with a beautiful sea view and the restaurant is very good, we recommend to have also a dinner there. Our stay was made extra special by the wonderful staff, who we will miss! Everything is perfect i have nothing to say… except that you’ll never meet someone nicer than the owner Dileepa. She is so soft and will provide any thing you need. I booked 3 nights and i extended 3 more weeks ! It is well located, clean and close to the surf spots (5min walk to the beach) and Nice restaurants. You can access the kitchen, the fridge and the outdoor area. If you hesitate go book, then don’t. You’ll feel like home here.

We were there 4 nights during off season.

We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. Every restaurant we went to we were the only ones! I think 2 nights would have been more than enough

Fortunately the place is not in the city of Wellgama which is bery busy, crowdy and noisy city. We resigned from spending more time in the city after 1h walk trying to find a nice area like caffees/restaurants or local small shops where you can buy some hand made staff etc.

The only minor downside is the occasional plastic waste, but with more awareness and local efforts, this paradise can be even better. We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Shan Star! Shan couldn't have been more helpful, kind and accommodating. He went the extra mile to make sure we were happy, and just generally offered an outstanding service. This accommodation is unbeatable on price, and is the best value for money hotel we stayed in while visiting Sri Lanka. The breakfast was also great, with delicious fruit picked from the garden itself! Shan organised a great snorkelling excursion for us, which was fantastic too. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

the villa is in a great location close to the beach and weligama centre. There is a kitchen with fridge and basic cooking facilities. the bathroom has lovely hot showers. all the windows have fly screens and mosquito proof. the villa has fans and is cool and not requiring air conditioning. The villa is located in a quiet alleyway a few metres between the beach and matara road. it is also close to some great restaurants that serve sri lankan and western meals. The owner is a lovely honourable and helpful man of great integrity.

We had an amazing stay at water gate resort. Next to the amazing room and location the family was very warm and welcoming. We have been in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks and this has been the most special stay for us. We spent most of our time in Weligama with the family, they took us to the beach, we had dinner together and played many games. If you are looking for an authentic experience with the kindest people and family we recommend this place a 100%

This was the best thing about our stay in Sri Lanka, the excellent management and service, the variety of entertainment facilities, the hotel knew we were on our honeymoon and prepared a complimentary dessert and decorated with rose petals. The beach is right downstairs, the pool is heated and never cold at night, and the restaurant has the best quality food in the area.
