The service was excellent. the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and attended quickly to all our needs. The independent surfing instructors were great too! We loved our room as well particularly the balcony. The location is amazing, just a few steps from a smooth sandy beach with the perfect waves for all levels of surfers. The water is shallow for a long way in without any rocks which makes it ideal for families with younger kids.

Best location in Midigama, with amazing beaches scarce of people right in front of it. Tentative and pleasant staff that did their outmost to make our stay the best it could be. All rooms have sea view and were clean and spacious. Food was great.

I WAS TRAVELING WITH A GROUP OF FRIENDS ON A SURFING TRIP, THE LOCATION WAS CONVENIENTLY SITUATED CLOSE TO MANY GREAT POPULAR SURF SPOTS AND A FEW HIDDEN GEMS WHICH YOU WILL HAVE TO SEARCH FOR. THE HOTEL IS SITUATED IN A SMALL VILLAGE, WHICH IS VERY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING, AND IN NO TIME AT ALL FRIENDSHIPS WERE MADE WITH BOTH LOCALS AND OTHER TOURISTS. THE HOTEL HAS A STRONG SURF CULTURE AND POST SURF A GREAT PLACE TO HANG OUT AND CHAT WITH OTHER GUESTS. THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD, AND ON CERTAIN NIGHTS A THEMED MEAL IS A OPTION, WE CHOOSE THE TRADITIONAL SRI LANKEN MEAL, WHICH WAS AMAZING. THE ROOMS WERE VERY SPACIOUS AND CLEAN, AND THE STAFF WERE SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. ALREADY PLANNING ON RETURNING AT EASTER WITH MY WIFE AND SON.     We were there 4 nights during off season.

    We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. Every restaurant we went to we were the only ones! I think 2 nights would have been more than enough

    Fortunately the place is not in the city of Wellgama which is bery busy, crowdy and noisy city. We resigned from spending more time in the city after 1h walk trying to find a nice area like caffees/restaurants or local small shops where you can buy some hand made staff etc.

    Weligama is an absolute gem for travelers! Whether you're chasing waves or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this place has it all. The beach is fantastic for surfing, with great waves for both beginners and pros, while also offering calm spots perfect for relaxation. The sunrises and sunsets here are truly breathtaking, making every moment by the ocean magical. The town itself is warm and welcoming, with friendly locals, great food, and a laid-back vibe. The only minor downside is the occasional plastic waste, but with more awareness and local efforts, this paradise can be even better. Overall, Weligama is an unforgettable destination that perfectly balances adventure and tranquility—a must-visit for any traveler! 🌴🏄‍♂️🌅

    If you want to learn to surf it’s a great place.

    If you want to learn to surf it’s a great place. But (compared to other places in SL) it’s pretty dull. Half the beach is a litter-strewn dump rest is tolerable if you’re surfing. Precious little else to do.

    The staff are amazing and do everything possible to help guests. The restaurant is superb with many food options from the west, Sri Lanka, India and Asia. The chefs are happy to prepare requests too which is amazing! The hotel manager, Iresh, is great and goes above and beyond to deal with any issues that arise. The live music in Tides bar was wonderful and the rooms are just beautiful with great bathrooms and views!

He was totally welcoming and professional, I hope the Director can value this guy and understand how is precious in his job.     We stayed at this hotel for 10 days. I liked everything very much. The rooms are spacious. Local breakfast included. The owner of the hotel talks about local dishes and culture, very interesting. While we were staying at the hotel, we seemed to be in a local, Sri Lankan family. Where love and care reign. We really enjoyed!
