Very good place and cost benefit. The staff was very nice and friendly. Parking in front of the hotel with limited spots, if you don´t get any, you can park on public payed parking spots. A nice breakfast at the restaurant with an outstanding view of the city. The location was perfect, right in the city centre, close to everything. Internet was very good. Bedroom was very clean and comfortable and worthed a lot, very good for a nice rest. Perfect choice!

It's a Russian speaking environment and a splendid place to go to learn Russian. If you reach out there are plenty of friendly people there. It could do with a day tripper public transport travel card. But trips are only €1. Also there's no fully labelled transport map with route numbers on it. Very glad I went there.

Daugavpils is struggling economically, but has a charming and mostly well-maintained 19th century center, a fascinating multicultural character, and lovely green open spaces, including forests and a lakeshore resort area on Lake Stropu. The Mark Rothko Arts Center is a major modern art museum, and well worth a visit. Not a conventional tourist destination, and short on good hotels and restaurants, but a fascinating slice of Eastern European life and history.

A hidden gem of Latvia that is worth the visit for tourism and business alike. There are quite many nice restaurants and bars on both side of the river while majority are located on one bank of the river but it's still worth the walk/drive to the other side. There are many hidden attractions for tourists and local authority web page with multi language support is a great portal to rely on. Also Daugavpils can serve as a base camp for visiting Aglona and Rezekne and the South-Eastern part of Latvia.

Great travel destination for tourism and business alike.

Great travel destination for tourism and business alike. Worth a detour to visit one of a kind military Fortress just a short stroll from the city centre with lots to see and many museums to visit and food to sample. Great eating places at the river beach just across the bridge from the city centre and another great selection in the centre at the walking street. Fortress is not the only great military tourism destination as you should also check out the Daugavpils Shot Factory.

Daugavpils is not a huge city, but for 1 or 2 days it surely...

Daugavpils is not a huge city, but for 1 or 2 days it surely has its charme. The city centre's architecture is quite picturesque, and don't miss out on the churches and the synagogue. (It is worth sending an e-mail and asking for a visit, even though the guide's English is a bit rusty. Nevertheless a very positive experience.) Also, you must visit the old fortress (take tram no. 3).

You have to see the geographic map of Daugavpils to...

You have to see the geographic map of Daugavpils to understand its traditional significance as a city that connects four major cities in the region - the city has everything you need - and all in few minutes walking from each other - and if you compare the prices with that of RIGA - well minus 40% easily.. You will enjoy this place

Daugavpils is neither the prettiest Latvian town nor most visited, considering all this HomeLike Hotel is doing very well in terms of facilities, staff, breakfast and location. It's really the only game in town. Yes, there is a big soviet type hotel few hundred meters away, but no need to bother with it -- stick to HomeLike.

Have stayed in all major Latvian cities this past month, Never have I ever felt like home and been welcomed like in Biplan Hotel Daugavpils. Friendly staff, clean and unique rooms, internal parking that is easy to access, great breakfast. Thanks, will visit again!

Close to shops and restaurants. Big room and really clean, has a great shower and the most comfortable chair I have sat in, in months. Parking out the back.Should not be a two-star hotel. I recommend this place.
