The self check-in was easy and room was tidy. There was hair dryer, toiletries, tea and coffee available. Breakfast was great and the staff were kind and responsive. Ventspils - city by the sea, which has Blue flag beach. It is not very crowded even in hot summer days. It is Baltic sea, it can be cold even in summer, it depends on the weather. But there are very nice sandy beaches. The city Ventspils - cozy city with many flowers, many parks for kids to play or just walk in the nature for anybody. Open air waterpark for kids. There is nice promenade to walk. There are some museums. It can be nice calm stay by the sea.

Ventspils is only accessible by bus from Riga, there is no...

Ventspils is only accessible by bus from Riga, there is no passenger rail service. The town has a long history as an ice-free Hanseatic port and was a strategic port for Russia during their period of control. Boat tours of the port area are available and there are many fine walking paths along the shore and out to the lighthouse at the entry to the harbor. Many old historic wood buildings remain and there are wonderful parks scattered throughout the city. The beach is quite extensive, but exposed to the onshore winds. The town is quite spread out and renting a bike is a good option if not travelling by car. Saturday morning is the best time to enjoy the local markets, and there are a choice of restaurants to suit every taste.

Since we have been visiting for many years in a row, we have noticed that the city of Ventspils is not improving. Few catering establishments, new activities in the port. In the evening, the city seems dead.

I honestly could say that it's the most tidiest city in Latvia I've ever been to. The infrastructure is amazing. Everything is right next to everything. A lot of stuff to do. It's beautiful (if you're not looking at the docks :D). The streets are clean and the planning for pedestrians and the overall nature of the city is amazing. There are parks around every block. You could just walk around for ages.

Peaceful and friendly city with adorable cats everywhere. The beach is very clean and better than in Jūrmala. There is more activities to do on the beach here. Jūrmala beach is more crowded but more long and shallow. Ventsps is safe, not so crowded and nice parks for children to play in. A treasure to explore. Where are everyone?

The host was very friendly, helpful and made you feel welcome. The best host that I have met so far. It made a so much difference when the host is meeting you on an arrival and showing around. The property is centrally located from all the places that you would like to visit in Ventspils. The bonus to this property is the convenience shop on the ground floor. If you travel with children, in 5 minutes walking distance, there is a large playground with cafe. Another 5 minutes, and you are at the sandy beach.
