The host and his family were amazing, handing out packed breakfast at 6am before diving. We had a health emergency, and the host was very supportive, he called the ambulance, visited our friend in hospital and even bought the prescription. Rooms were clean and modern, the cottage is quiet and nice.

The clean swimming pool and inviting garden sofas were perfect for relaxation and work. Nova This review will be fairly long, as the level of care, professionalism, attention to detail and sheer joy we received is hard to put into a short review. Here’s the TL;DR before the long version: Don’t think twice, book Nova. It’ll be worth every penny, the facilities are top notch and state of the art (barely 2 years old) and the staff is the most amazing in the world. Now, let’s dive in. The experience begins with Ms Zhou at arrivals welcoming you along with the front office team. You’re shown around the island, where you see Wink (the social hub of the island), the state of the art gym, and white sand beaches. The villas are out of this world, spacious, well ACed, and with good access to the water. You don’t spend much time in the room however, because you’ll be eating at Soul Kitchen, where Evi, Bee, Sinhala, Anggi, Manoj and the wok-master himself James prepare you the best meals at restaurant level you can have. Not once do you feel like it’s a buffet, because the quality is so high. At breakfast, make sure to grab a sweet bite from the pastry chef Ms. Bee, or a perfectly cooked each time eggs Benedict from Anggi. At lunch or dinner, be sure to get a live-cooking rice from James, Sinhala or Manoj - the wok hei taste is something that you cannot replicate without their years of experience. Big shout out to Chef James for helping me build up my spice tolerance. The state of the art cooking is supplemented by the attentive staff, who don’t let a day pass by without pampering you. Huge thanks to the entire team, especially Mohammed, Shaee, Jailam, Angunn, Lee, Heidi, Fitri, Kadek and of course Muneeb. When catching the sunset in the Solis Pool Bar, a cocktail from one of Sri Lanka’s best - Sandun - is a must. (Though the first place is closely tied with Krishan from Wink, also Sri Lanka). Sandun makes the perfect cocktails, easily carries the conversation and has insightful comments. Wink - the social hub of the entire island.

Everything was top notch! The host took care of our transport to the island from the airport and showed us around the island upon arrival. He took care of us, providing everything we needed. We were even provided with a free breakfast on all the five days of our stay. He also took us on a free snorkelling tour to a neighbouring sandbank and he tried his best to find mantas and whale sharks for us to snorkel with. When we did not find whale sharks, he gave us another free tour (which was unfortunately also unsuccessful, but nothing can be done about that). I can heartily recommend staying at Dhangethi Inn!

Everything is perfect ! The staff is incredible, they are attentive to all your needs and very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable, with a direct enter to the water and space on the beach. Beautiful well maintained resort. The staff were friendly at every interaction. The buffet was great, and the drinks, cocktail and wine selection was extensive (Must try the Espresso Martini!). It is a small enough island to walk around. The locals are extremely friendly - always saying hello. There are 3 restaurants all along the west coast. Compass seems most popular. But all are good with same offering of food. There is a fair amount of building going on at the moment as they gear up for more tourists. We used South Ari Dive for our diving trips. They are professional and friendly.

Great for diving but not so great for snorkeling.

Great for diving but not so great for snorkeling. The reef is very far out and at times the current was very strong. Prices for trips to see the whale sharks were quite expensive at 75 USD. And there were tons of other boats at the same spots - very zoo-like. Bikini beach, the only beach you can swim at in only your bathing suit is fairly shallow and windy. The better beach beside it requires you to be clothed. However, the local people are super nice and helpful.

The staff tries to keep it very clean. They are friendly and would help with anything. The food is varied and very rich. The massage therapists are at a very good level. I did not like the markup of goods in the only store. The ratio is ten times.

Firstly to clarify the resort is located in Theluveligaa, not Dhangethi. Theluveligaa is a small island, I was a solo traveller (mid 30s female) the water villa is amazing and the outside space is spacious with a lot of seating options. I hardly spent time on the beach. The resort itself is very quiet even when full. There are no motorised sports however you can kayak, snorkel and dive (you can get your licence there) and do other trips: Whale Sharks, Mantas, Turtles. The food options are good, drinks are expensive a juice will set you back $18 staff are friendly, especially the dive instructors (Julia & Ebu) and receptionist (Maria) I would definitely recommend this resort and felt safe on my own.

Quiet, lovely colourful houses, quite small but surrounded by other islands. Head for the jetty especially at sunset. Two recommended cafes/ restaurants: Compass with its verandah dining tables where you can watch rays and baby nurse sharks being fed at dusk - the maitre d’ - Sampath was charming and obliging and the food was amazing. Try also the Blue Moon Cafe with the equally charming Anup as maitre d’. Not much coral as the island is surrounded by sea grass

A beautiful location. with some good snorkeling, which is provided by "Mother Nature" not the resort. In all other respects the resort is poor to terrible. We paid £10,500 for 10 days A.I.P; party of 4 in two poorly maintained Jacuzzi water villas. (Not a Jacuzzi- brand name - a Sovereign Spa Hot tub.) Some services offered simply don't work, and management are fully aware of this but continue to advertise. Guests are treated with disdain and rudeness by client relations team/management who are not visible. Included trips - Sunset Punch / Dhangethi are an excuse to try and take some more cash from their guests. They offer only excuses...."we are on an island so it is difficult to.....(insert complaint here)" "All Inclusive MInus" is a better description of their package. Got much better service, food, accommodation and customer care in Mauritius/Zanzibar/Thailand/Florida/Dubai/Turkey/Madeira/Cyprus/ Marakech etc etc.

A cozy and safe oasis with a great location in lovely Dhangethi. Ellen took good care of us throughout our stay, and communication with Ellen went flawlessly before and during our trip. The room air conditioning and Wifi worked well, the bed was huge and good for sleeping. Child-friendly accommodation, nearby playground and soccer field. Ellen and Nadeem organized memorable trips for us to Turtle reef, snorkeling and see the dolphins at sunset. Dhangethi Retreat will always have a special place in our hearts!

A very nice place to stay. People are friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, AC was working really well. Food in the hotel was delicious for good prices if ordering separately (Maldivian lunch, fried fish etc.) The bikini beach is really close. Loved that this hotel was super cozy and green - beautiful garden, and lovely chill spots on the property. Communication was fast and easy through Booking, hotel booked a speedboat for us.
