What an amazing place! Loved the history behind the place and reading all the biographies of the famous visitors on the walls. The room, the grounds and the pool were lovely. The staff was so kind and welcoming. We took a tour of the plantation in a vintage vehicle, it seems expensive but we had a wonderful time trying all the fruit, hearing the history of the property and listening to our great guide.

We absolutely loved this place – it truly felt as though a billionaire had entrusted us with his luxurious mansion. Our stay was exceptionally pleasant, and we thoroughly enjoyed the exquisite meals served both in the evening and morning. The staff was very pleasant as well.

This quiet and luxurious place is just across the road from the Uxmal archaeological site. We visited the site just after breakfast, and we were the only visitors for the first 30 minutes. Tourists started arriving when we were about to leave.

New, clean, and luxurious hotel. We arrived by train (tren maya) and were picked up from the station. The hotel also took us to the Uxmal temple by shuttle (20 minutes). Excellent service!

breakfast was a home-cooked omelette with black beans on the side, it was very tasty. There was a fruit plase before the main plate. We were offered a choice of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. The room was spotless and charming. iy is an idyllic setting.

This is kind of a gem and a little paradise in the nowhere but close to Uxmal. It’s very well signposted and although right at the street it’s not too loud. Valerie is very kind host who takes care for her guests personally. Breakfast is very good and also the Restaurant offers a good selection. I would highly recommend this accommodation!

Our room was actually a bedroom, bathroom and a living room with a small kitchen like space (no cooking facilities just fridge). We were surrounded by trees and nature despite the fact that Posada El Jardin is located in the city centre. There are restaurants and shops walking distance from the place, and with a car (or a motor taxi) you can get anywhere in 10 minutes. The room was comfortable, fresh towels and linen, toiletries, air-conditioning, wi-fi anything you would expect. It's a rustic style and it may seem dated but actually it has its charm. The owner is very kind and helpful.

Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site.

Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site. Lots of large sites to see and you can wander at your own pace. It was my favorite of the sites we visited on the trip. Tickets and entry could be clearer and signage at sites in Mexico is always lacking, but the quality of the ruins and architecture is fantastic. The scale, intimacy of the visit, and amount of ruins is superb.

To really get to experience Mayan culture, the near by towns and cenotes and more archeological sites I would recommend a week in Uxmal . I loved every minute we were there . I would also recommend having a much spending money as possible, not because things are expensive it is that there is so much to do and it will cost money . Horse riding , vintage 4WD hire , the prices for the sites and tours has risen due to the pandemic . Also supporting local artists .

The site is wonderful and the hotel was surrounded by orchards birds flowers amazing palms. A couple of small interesting local museums with animals local Mayan customs and chocolate cultivation. The Lodge restaurant which also belonged to the hacienda estate was a short walk and of a high standard.

We traveled by car because my older sister has specific food needs due to ALS. A blender, two boxes of food and a cooler were graciously hauled to and from our room by the hotel staff. They could not have been more accommodating and helped to supplement her diet with fresh food from the kitchen. It was my sister's fifth and probably final trip to the awe inspiring sites of the Yucatan. We are so grateful for the experience.

Uxmal charges US citizen 4 times regular admission.

Uxmal charges US citizen 4 times regular admission. Hotel Uxmal Maya charges 33% more for using US money or cards. Do not go if you don’t want to feel ripped off. Nothing special about hotel as at every turn you have to be guarded about being ripped off.

Location is excellent for exploring Uxmal (you can visit it in the morning while there are no tourists and watch a special night shows when regular tourists leave the place). The hotel itself is a kind of place to explore: authentic, with a lot of history. The staff is very helpful. They helped us with booking very interesting tours around Uxmal, we saw really cool Mayan places with a few / no other tourists there. Thank you!

Great location, just 2 minutes from Uxmal (by car). Nice view in the garden and surroundings. Has a restaurant inside (as there are not to many options nearby)..... perfect for a night stopover to visit Uxmal as early in the morning as possible. Great price.
