What an amazing, unique, superspecial place to stay... We absolutely loved staying at the Trechter!!! This is such an extraordinary experience, and pure luxury. The interior design is stunningly beautiful, homely and super clean. The cherry on the top are both the jacuzzi as well as the panoramic view of the sea... truly breathtaking. The welcome was so warm and inviting, and we simply enjoyed every moment we could spend there. Our stay was my special birthday gift to myself, and I felt like a diva... 😀 And you get your brekkie delivered to the entry hall, what a treat. Will come back for some more celebration of life & watching the sun set behind the sea...

This place is a Gem. Not really in the city center and behind outdoor activity places so you didn't expect much but the hotel was great. New and relatively modern and right on the beach. The room was fine, the breakfast had a super selection. And I I felt for the first time on our trip that the price was right. - I can also recommend the restaurant right across the way. - The food was really tasty.

Comfortable beds, fairly clean shower.

Comfortable beds, fairly clean shower. Everything else is pretty basic; don't expect luxury. The toilet wasn't properly installed yet. The area around the campsite is quite cluttered. The surrounding area is generally beautiful in warm weather, but we weren't; the wind was very strong and cold. So sitting outside wasn't an option. We did have a delicious meal in Makkum at "Strandhuys Makkum." Highly recommended!
