My husband and I felt welcomed as a long-lost member of the family.The accommodation was clean and inviting and we were rewarded with a refreshing night of sleep in very comfortable beds. Breakfast was wonderful with the aroma filling the senses with culinary delight invigorating the body for the day. The suggestion for places to enjoy were extremely helpful. We enjoyed showering in a specious shower cabin. There will always exist a warm place in my heart for Paula.

A very special stay in a former prison. Our room was spacious, squeaky clean and well decorated. Also parking on site was easy and convenient. Don’t miss breakfast, it’s delicious. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We didn’t have the chance to have a meal at Damianz, because it was fully booked but we’ve been provided with a copious amout of lovely recommendations for dinner - everything in walking distance.

It was easy to find and easy to get back on to the bike route, Maasroute, from the hotel! I liked the courtyard restaurant very much ! And my upstairs suite was sweet! I also very much appreciated the bicycle garage, where I could leave my bike, safely, AND charge the bike battery, also safely!!

Aldeghoor Castle, with its good restaurant, and the adjacent excellent restaurant are easily accessible on foot from Aldeghoor. We also found Haelen a sleepy, sleepy little town, lacking a proper town center and lacking a cozy café, unlike Kessel, for example.

I found the castle's atmosphere, the accessibility of the castle garden, and the courtyard terrace most appealing. The room had good air conditioning. It was also very clean. The breakfast was delicious, and the host was very hospitable and friendly. It was a shame that dinner wasn't served on Monday evenings. And the blankets on the bed were too warm.

Great room and location.

Great room and location. Excellent bathroom and shower, and a delicious and plentiful breakfast. Angelique is a perfect hostess. The only downside is that half of the room is underground, so you look out onto the wheels of your car.

Beautiful surroundings and by car you can quickly reach many nice places, for example Thorn the white city, but you can also make beautiful trips by bike. You can enjoy culinary delights at the Aldenghoor castle, excellent cuisine.

Venlo Saturday market, Kessel Castle and church or the Meuse River, Maastricht André Rieu concert, Roermond outlet center, in Haelen there is a steakhouse, snack bar, Greek restaurant and a restaurant in the castle complex and next to it an exclusive French-style restaurant "de Vogelmolen" as well as a meeting center with a restaurant. In the town there is also a drugstore and a Coop shopping center.

An excellent starting point for cycling and/or hiking, with...

An excellent starting point for cycling and/or hiking, with an extensive network of restaurants, but unfortunately not available at reception. A charming little village with many amenities, shops, and a historic castle. A kitchenette with a washing machine is provided, but no oven or dishwasher. There's only one large frying pan, but not a small one for things like eggs.
