The hotel was fantastic. We booked a spa room @ the Jacuzzi was brilliant. We also used the pool up top & the sauna & steam room. Weather was very good & were able to sit on the loungers on the roof top & soak up the rays. The hotel is right next to the train station so we used that to & frm airport & getting to Amsterdam. Big huge shopping mall just across from hotel. In walking distance plenty of restaurants & bars. We loved our stay

Great family owned hotel and restaurant in a quaint village in the beautiful countryside not too far from Utrecht and close to the castle. The staff and the owner were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good with sufficient choice. My wife and I highly recommend this hotel.

Harmelen is a small village where you have nothing to do as...

Harmelen is a small village where you have nothing to do as a tourist unless you're in the province of Utrecht, where you're looking for all sorts of activities. In that case, Harmelen makes a peaceful base. Harmelen itself is a village like hundreds of others in the Netherlands. A church, four terraces, four restaurants, and otherwise, new housing developments and ugly neighborhoods. So, spend the night and get out of here.

We stayed overnight in the heart of Harmelen between two...

We stayed overnight in the heart of Harmelen between two stages of the Limes Trail. The hotel is literally right on the trail. We also had a delicious meal there. It was a shame there were no coffee and tea facilities in the room. Considering the price of the overnight stay (excluding breakfast), that would have been welcome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and restaurant Het Wapen van Harmelen. The location is central and perfect for visiting the town center/shopping, walking, cycling, and other activities. The accommodation exceeded our expectations.

The accommodation in Harmelen is in a great location, easily accessible from Amsterdam, and even more so from Utrecht. The village is fantastic, especially for those who love typical Dutch landscapes and cycling or hiking. The attached restaurant serves delicious, tasty food. The setting is very quiet, despite being busy.

Harmelen is a beautiful village situated on the Old Rhine. The village boasts a magnificent (originally medieval) church, surrounded by a (good) hotel (Het Wapen van Harmelen), restaurants, and several charming shops. The surrounding area is stunning, and besides its beauty, the village is also a clean place where people care for their gardens.

We stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms just across the road from the main building. Our room was really comfortable and spacious, and the bathroom, with toiletries, was beautiful. It was great to have a kettle. The bedding and towels were of a high quality. We had a balcony overlooking the street, but the sound proofing was excellent. The town is very small, and the hotel is centrally located.

We were very happily surprised by the location. This small town center is very cute with its huge church in the middle. The hotel is easy access and we had no trouble finding a free parking spot. We also tried the restaurant of the hotel for dinner and it was really amazing! Hat off to the chef :D The breakfast was ok :)

Lovely room overlooking the canal ,hearty evening meal in the restaurant and excellent choice for breakfast .Staff very helpful for dog ( Extra cost to take dog )Church and hotel lit up at night ,good for dog walking by the canal .
