The actual town was just a town, nothing to see really except local shops. There was a WW2 bunker/museum just along from the hotel but the Google information about opening times was not accurate, I was stood at the locked front door when Google said it was open. I had been to IJmuiden as a child many times and I am familiar with the neighbouring towns we had intended to visit. Instead, we went further afield and upon the advice of the staff we planned our route slightly different. The staff are very very competent and knowledgeable, always smiling and making sure their guests have everything they need. For us…our time there was too short but nevertheless a fantastic stay.
