In addition to being clean and comfortable and in a great position with views to the next island (at least from our room), staff were terrific. They gave great local advice, offered to make a booking at a restaurant for us, and even called our next host to sort out our check-in problems. The breakfast buffet was not only fantastic, but a sign encourage guests to pack themselves a healthy lunch. I was overwhelmed.

Fantastic hosts who were very understanding and accommodating when we faced travel disruptions and accommodation issues. Hosts are very knowledgeable and were able to provide some pointers on some things to do in the area. Delightful apartment: clean, well-equipped, lovely view. Some reviews mention an ugly building in the way, but there's plenty of great view around it. It was a bonus to find some food basics in the cupboard like oil, salt etc. Excellent communication before we arrived.

Absolutely everything about this apartment was fabulous. It has been decorated in a chic French boutique style with lots of personal and quirky items. The kitchen area had everything we needed, the lounge area had a super comfortable sofa and armchair, perfect for watching Netflix! The bathroom was fully functional and the bedroom cosy with a door out onto the private balcony. Annette, the owner, had thoughtfully left plenty of teas and coffee, a gorgeous Bottle of fizz, a bowl of sweet treats and even provisions for breakfast. As we stayed over National Day, we were treated to massive slabs of delicious celebration cake with fresh berries and cream. There was plenty of tourist information in the house to enable you to plan your visit. Stay here, you really won’t be disappointed.

I went to Kristiansund primarily because it is so well connected and I wanted to visit a small Norwegian town on my way to Trondheim. There is not much going on here, but it is still an interesting place to visit for sure. And make sure to take a ride on Sundbåten, it is rather lovely.

Maybe we missed something, but the city didn't have much of...

Maybe we missed something, but the city didn't have much of a vibe to it and seemed mostly a place for a pause on the way to somewhere else. The town is built on 3-4 islands and has a free water bus to carry you to the different parts, but there really doesn't feel like there is a "center" and the "pedestrian zone" in the main city (Kirkelandet) was deserted. The "old town" in Innlandet was quaint but was mostly residential with no restaurants. From the perspective of a "real" city not overrun with the day-trip cruiseboat hordes, it was a nice change, but it is not really scenic. Having been virtually destroyed in 1940, this is understandable (unless you are a fan of post-war construction)

I liked the location.

I liked the location. I did not like at all that the contact person was extremely lightly and did not answer my calls, and then did not respond to the problems, which were: the full trash can under the sink, the non-working TV with a broken socket and most of all the damaged door to the bedroom. When it closes, it gets out of the chute because it's sliding and you end up getting locked in, like it happened with us and you can't open it more. And the host, he doesn't even answer your phone or answer your messages. Extremely irresponsible person!!!
