Located in the P2 parking, the best to start hiking from. We booked the appartment. It has 3 rooms, a spacious kitchen, a very large living room and a very large terrace. Nicely furnished and decorated. The kitchen has everything you need. Enough plates, cutlery, extra trashbags, microwave and water boiler. The whole place was like we arrived home. Definetely a must accommodation! There is a small buffet next to the building, open in need-times, also a shop with necessary clothings if you miss something, or necessary food if you don't want to drive back to the town. The road to the lodge is narrow, full of bends and very nice.

Vickinghaug is set amongst incredible Norwegian fjord...

Vickinghaug is set amongst incredible Norwegian fjord scenary. It has the other point of interest in that there is a, no longer functioning in its original capacity , factory in the middle of the Fjord. Because it poses no environmental problems any longer. This factory gives the Fjord an interesting historical relevance. The proprietors are obviously always improving the function of the accomodation to suit lots of different styles of travellers. We stayed in a three bedroom, self catering apartment with views on both sides. We had a drink in the evening looking over the lake and the waterfall and dinner at night looking over the Fjord. The walks in the area are popular because they are so full of natural beauty and thus attract many hikers and campers . The town felt slightly off piste from the over used tourist pathways which suited us perfectly.

The accommodation was spacious, new, modern and well-equipped. It is a series of separate apartments on the first, second and third floors. Access is from a door on the street and it is not possible to unload a car from in front of the building. You have to park in another location but there is plenty of free parking available nearby. To get up to the apartments there is only a narrow stairway. The first floor apartment has a door opening on to a large roof-space with very nice views of the fjord and surrounding town.

Odda is quite small and the place is not too far from city...

Odda is quite small and the place is not too far from city centre. There should be an additional information about rent of duvets and bed sheets for 10 euro or 100 nor coron (they do not accept cards so you have to take cash from atm). Ppl at the reception are nice. However the information about limits in water quite weird. In Norway everything is a bit more expensive but comping just Bergen to Odda, Odda you have to multiply prices for accommodation. Quality wasn't that high, room clean but showers are need to be improved. Also they need to inform ppl to close the door from kitchen as smell is going around the whole building. Enjoy your stay don't forget to take your tracking shoes before entering the building. :)

Odda itself isn't particularly interesting.

Odda itself isn't particularly interesting. You can quickly see everything in its few streets and along the fjord; the restaurants are standard. The town's main appeal lies in its surroundings and the nearby hiking trails (a definite favorite is the loop that leads to Reinanuten via the lakes).

If you like spectacular nature and appreciate hiking in very steep terrain with amazing peaks as the final destination. Odda is the place. Very dependent on the weather. We were lucky this time too. The fruit trees blooming is a fantastic sight. (This time we were too early,)

A picturesque town with fjords and mountains, there are supermarkets and hotels. Close to the rock "Troll's Tongue", to the Fonnelfonna glacier and the valley of waterfalls. An ideal town to walk the most interesting routes in the mountains

Perfect spot to stay if you're in the area to explore and hike with friends. The apartment had a kitchen with all the utensils and gear you would need to cook your own food (which is handy as eating out is expensive), loads of space, great water pressure in the shower and a washing machine if you needed to wash clothes from a big day out. It was also very clean, warm, plenty of parking and a had large TV with Netflix which was nice to lounge in front of after 9 hours of hiking. Walkable distance to shops and the centre of town.

The location is a bit outside of the city but as it is close to a lake the view is really nice. Although you do need to leave your room to see it 😉 pick up with the shuttle to the Trollunga Hike was perfect and you are being dropped of at the camping side again on the return (at least with Odda Taxi). I would recommend using the shuttle especially if you want to save yourself the parking fees.

I stayed here the night before Trolltunga. It’s good value compared to hotels there. Great location, right in the centre. The dormitory is a 12 bed dorm that’s kept very clean along with a clean bathroom. There is one bathroom for the dorm but also one upstairs- had no issue with waiting. The kitchen also has everything you need. Helga was very helpful and responsive also.
