Clean and fresh rooms. Good for spending a night along the road. Located right beside the main road (E6) that goes from south to north all through Norway. It is only a few minutes drive from Oppdal, the nearest town. Nearby you can go skiing, cycling, mountain hiking etc. Friendly staff and great food in the restaurant.

I stopped in Oppdal by train from Kongsvold.

I stopped in Oppdal by train from Kongsvold. I was on my way to Trondheim doing the pilgrimage of St. Olav's Way. Oppdal is this small town that has a lot of charm. I was able to walk around town for a little bit. There are sidewalks throughout town that allow you to get all over the place. Transportation - There is a train that can take you north to Trondheim. There's also a bus if you need to go to Berkåk. This makes it easy to get around. There's even a taxi service by the name of Trønder Taxi AS that you can use to get around. Warning - taxis are pretty pricey in Norway and I would recommend using public transportation if you can. Download Vy app to check times and buy any tickets you may need. I ended up eating at Burger King in Oppdal(I know, very American of me). I wanted to have something quick to eat. I will say this, fast food chains are more expensive than local restaurants.

A nice town center with two shopping malls.

A nice town center with two shopping malls. All the shops are there. We also visited the Oppdal church. We couldn't go inside, but we could visit the cemetery. It's exceptionally well-maintained. We took a lovely forest walk of about 10 km in the surrounding area. We're only here for two days, but I think you could easily spend a week here.

Oppdal is very beautiful, although there are still few...

Oppdal is very beautiful, although there are still few visitors in winter. It has ski slopes and a great team, and the people are very polite. The town center is very small, and the houses are scattered. There are many cabins in the surrounding area.

A beautiful nature reserve where you can enjoy fantastic multi-day hikes. Conditions can be challenging, however. The terrain is challenging, but the weather, in particular, can make a hike (very) difficult. Overnighting in one of the huts instead of bringing your own tent is highly recommended.

Oppdal is a nice little village in Dovrefjell National Park.

Oppdal is a nice little village in Dovrefjell National Park. There are many hiking trails and a cable car to take you up Oppdal's local mountain. Shopping is very good. We were mainly here for the hikes in the national park and to see the musk oxen – unfortunately, we didn't see any. Wildlife encounters are, after all, a matter of luck.

A modernized (city center) but still cozy place in beautiful surroundings, nice open-air museum (outdoor area free and can be visited even after closing time), I was in Oppdal in the summer and therefore don't know the available winter sports facilities (you'd have to try them sometime)

Complete chalet, immediately felt at home here. Everything we needed was available. All good quality, very clean. Nice surroundings, private and extremely quiet (eg no traffic sounds, no dogs, no work on nextdoor construction was done during our visit). Simple and straightforward check-in, no direct interface with owners. 10 minuten drive to Oppdal with several restaurants.

A traditional tourist hotel, conveniently located right by the railway platform. Everything is a little dated, but in decent condition. Good, extensive breakfast. As a railfan, I enjoyed the view from the room to the railway line.

We had a nice cabin. It was clean with quite some space. Toilet, kitchen and washing facilities were closeby. The location was fine. Close to Oppdal and Dovrefjell NP. Owner was friendly and helpful.
