From my point of view, I recommend visiting Stavanger for those who like natural views with mountains and waters. The impressive cruise on Lysefjord to Preikestolen and Hengjanefossen and the even more impressive mountain hike to Preikestolen

The hotel is in a quiet residential area, not far from the supermarket and town. It provides limited parking spaces, which is convenient for bringing a car. Their breakfast is a good value for the money, I would highly recommend taking the option when you stay there.

The 12th century cathedral was so interesting.

The 12th century cathedral was so interesting. The book on sale at reception gave a very good history. The petroleum exhibition was very interesting. I really understood the importance of finding oil to Norway, although the accidents endured by families was heartrending.

The harbor area is very close to Radisson Blu.

The harbor area is very close to Radisson Blu. Lots of inexpensive eating options, and a few expensive ones near the harbor. The area above the harbor is very cute. Nice shops (perfect for the many cruise ships, good bakeries for breakfast and a good selection of bars and restaurants. Stavanger was more interesting and more fun to walk around than we expected. The cathedral was closed for organ tuning, but turning 900 years old in 2025. Nice feature in middle of town. Lots of small streets to walk and shop.

Everything was within walking distance of hotel. Museums were really interesting- especially the oil and petrol museum and print and canning museums. Lots of buzz around the harbour. Easy access to day cruises

Stavanger is a beautiful small city.

Stavanger is a beautiful small city. You have most of the important sites all within walking distance of the harbor. The best halibut I have ever enjoyed. Wine and spirits are very expensive - you can buy a bottle of wine at the liquor store for what one glass will cost at a restaurant. May 17 is probably the absolute best day to be there as the entire city comes out in traditional clothing and every cultural, music and sporting group marches in the annual Constitution Day Parade.

Great location for the purpose of my visit. Next door to one of the largest shopping centres in Norway, close to the motorway, buses etc. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was of good quality. The rooms are very small but compact. There could have been a picture on the wall to make it look a little bit more inviting. In our room, there was only tape from where we assume a picture had once been hanging. Not very attractive. The staff I spoke with during our stay were friendly and helpful.
