owners were personally involved and organised for us to park our fancy old car on their driveway so it wasn’t out in the public carpark overnight healthy pot plants and coffee nice touches. we didn’t think of breakfast there but it looked lovely

Beautiful elegant property with great attention to detail, situated in the countryside just outside Blenheim off the main road south. An old gracious villa, with a lovely garden and trees, a verandah to sit out and enjoy the ambiance, and interiors tastefully decorated with antique styles. Operates in the style of a lodge with public areas to enjoy. A very restful choice if you are happy to relax with a book rather than a TV, or want to range out each day exploring the surrounding wine district. Absolutely delicious breakfast with special homemade touches, served around the table in the elegant dining room. Room was very comfortable with a large bathroom and thoughtful additions. Our hostess Heidi was charming and helpful - one of those special people who exude warmth and caring hospitality. She has put a huge amount of thought and effort into creating this haven. An absolutely lovely stay, we were very sorry to leave.

We are very fortunate inasmuch as we are able to travel extensively and currently live overseas. This hotel is, Hands Down, the best hotel we’ve ever used. From the second we walked in the door it was obvious the D’Urville was going to be different. I didn’t know where to look first as the decoration is so fabulous. We stayed one night only unfortunately.. our room surpassed all expectation ..then a pre dinner drink in the cocktail bar which was delicious and another visual feast ! And dinner…completely amazing food which took us to new places! Love the ambience created which I interpreted as being in a Rudyard Kipling book! I’ve run out of superlatives! Apart from the coffee the breakfast perfect … but now I’m being picky!

I had an amazing stay at this accommodation! Heather is a fantastic host—super friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything. She made sure I had everything I needed and gave great local tips. The place itself was lovely—clean, cozy, and exactly as described. And I have to mention the dog—such a sweetheart and an absolute highlight of my stay! If you're looking for a place with a warm and personal touch, this is definitely the one. Highly recommended!

The bnb was close to town and very comfortable. Breakfast was second to none. Glenyss and Russell welcomed us into their home as if we’d known them for years and we enjoyed listening to their stories over a glass of wine. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Enjoy the walk or bike ride along Taylor River. Parking is mostly fee based but not difficult. There are a lot of well reviewed eateries. Try Dulce in central Blenheim for a casual meal. Go to the wetlands at Grovetown lagoon. Pollard park is quite pretty. It's all about the wineries but note that unlike in Australia, many NZ wineries charge for tastings.

Truth is I've lived here all my life. You have done an awesome job in restoring these apartments a solid 10 / 10 in my book. What a transformation from the old days. As for Blenheim it's self it's a nice place but a few too many grapes and pine trees along with rest homes lol

We felt welcomed everywhere we went.

We felt welcomed everywhere we went. From accommodation at Carnmore Chateau to the cafes to the Peter Jackson aviation museum. We had a great time. The museums are a must see to get an appreciation of what it would have been to serve in either of the World wars.

Loved the views around Blenheim.

Loved the views around Blenheim. Beautiful walks and stunning weather on autumn days. Only went to one vineyard and the food was divine ( wither hills) . Will be back to try more!! All the people in Blenheim were super friendly. Stayed for 2 nights but wish we had stayed a few more.

A beautiful town with good coffee and dining options which traverse a range of price points. Blenheim is only a 25 minute drive from Picton and is the best town to base yourself for a wine tasting experience around Marlborough.

Omaka Aerodrome is stunning - I wasn't that keen as airplanes are not my deal but it was a terrific display - showcasing the skills of weta workshop! EKo Wildlife Tours Picton were outstadning, the trip to Motuara Island was such a great day oet with knoweldgable guides and amazing wildlife on display, St Clair vineyards Celebration platter was a highlight!

I was driving home to Nelson from Christchurch last Saturday. The driving conditions deteriorated at nightfall, so I stopped in Blenheim to find somewhere to stay the night. I was delighted to do a quick search on Booking.com and find a room available at Carnmore Chateau. Staff were friendly and helpful, I had a great meal in the restaurant, and it was a lovely and comfortable place to stay amidst the torrential rain and thunderstorms.
