My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this lodge and it began the moment we arrived. The owners welcomed us warmly and, as we had cycled all day to get to it and did not realise that the store across the street (which is in fact not a store) would be closed, we had no food for the evening. Without a moment's hesitation the owners arranged a nice supper for us, including a salad picked fresh from their garden. We spent an interesting evening chatting with them as well as another couple of local New Zealanders staying at the lodge. The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom were very clean, and there is a nice deck to sit out on. The location, right near the beach, is a perfect stop for cyclists on the way from Picton to Kaikoura, and we can highly recommend it!

The property is beautiful in all respects—immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, and equipped with all the facilities one could need, including a barbecue, washing machine, dryer, and more. The super king-size beds were extremely comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights. Additionally, the warm hospitality from hosts Peter and Tuti truly made a difference; they are lovely people who are genuinely kind and caring. They provided all the necessary amenities for a wonderfully comfortable stay and went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome.

We stayed in the lodge rather than the tree houses. Fantastic accommodation with wonderful attention to detail, and great facilities such as a large spa bath, gas fireplace. Breakfast and dinner were included, and these were excellent. Great views back towards the kaikoura range, and a 15 minute walk will get you down to the beach for more fabulous views. The Lodge arranged whale watching for us, and were very helpful in answering any queries we had. Would definitely stay again.
