Lovely little town with lots of interesting things to do.

Lovely little town with lots of interesting things to do. Great shops, bookshop and ladies clothing well provided for. Swan Hotel for excellent food and service, as well as the lovely Indian restaurant. Loved the market, and bought beautiful 🍓 and plants. Such an accessible town. We walked everywhere and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.

We visited Greytown to see the Longbush cottage tulip...

We visited Greytown to see the Longbush cottage tulip display which didn’t disappoint, the gift shops in the character buildings of the Main Street are always worth a look and there are many nice cafes to choose from, we ate at The Offering and Kokodeli and would definitely go back.

Greytown is so close to many places of interest.

Greytown is so close to many places of interest. As a township it has everything required for a stay. Beautifully preserved in heritage style. Very friendly, helpful locals. The Cobblestone Museum is a must to see. Central to other interesting wee townships and a stunning scenic drive to Castlepoint which is a must see and explore. The best burgers at the local store. 😋 would love to return to visit everything we didn't have time for. I must say EXCELLENT restaurants and takeaways. Missed a laundromat but one in Martinborough, Carterton.

Greytown is a nice little town in the Wairarapa, a bit fency...

Greytown is a nice little town in the Wairarapa, a bit fency, with lots of cafe and diverse shops. I particularly recommend the French Bakery, which sells amazing French-like croissant and good brioches. I also recommend the walk in the memorial park, which is a remnant of native bush, which survived from the farmland associated deforestation more than common in the Wairarapa. Finally I recommend the bar at the White Swan, very cool place for drinks ! Out of Greytown, head to the Mount Holdsworth carpark and "climb" to the lookout, definitely worth it !

Beautiful accommodation, close to township.

Beautiful accommodation, close to township. Everything we needed was provided, very compact but all we needed. Breakfast and extras provided especially the chocolate cake set this accommodation apart from others. Definitely 5 star.

Liked  · Location was handy to the place we were going and almost accessible to everything. Staff was friendly and showed us around. Disliked  · Room 1 is infested with tiny ladybugs . Could’ve been better if there’s no ladybug pestering around the ceiling when we’re already in bed. Found about 7-8 inside room and they do fly! Ive got my son sleeping on other bed and seen one crawling, that’s when i found out when I look at ceiling that it’s around the room. And just when we’re about to go in the morning, thought there was a fly flying, nope! Just the ladybug 🐞 which landed on the curtain. They seriously need to start cleaning the room to remove those tiny ladybugs. Whilst it doesn’t pose much of danger, I wasn’t able to have a good sleep as was waking up checking thinking it might crawl on us and get inside our ears coz they’re quite tiny, and that could be painful if it does end there! Left a review at their site as well to tell that it’s infested with tiny ladybugs🐞 also could do better with kettle, was about to make tea but found it very rusty.

We enjoyed our stay in a very authentically old hotel. Loved the squeaky, creaky floors. Shared facilities were clean and convenient, and easily accessible. We particularly wanted single beds and they were comfy. The tea, coffee and milk with the jug provided were appreciated. Room service was friendly and efficient. Staff enabled us to re-freeze our slicker pad needed for medical supplies. Thank you. Access to and from our room was made easy with the outer door key. Parking was off street and very close to access.

The hosts provided food for a continental breakfast, as we were not close to shops or a cafe and it was very good. A lovely garden and rural outlook. Only about 10 minutes drive in to Greytown, a gorgeous village and the other way approximately 15 minutes drive to Martinborough, a smaller village with wineries close by.
