The location was perfect, lovely short stroll to the beach. Cleanliness was 100% so much attention to detail with the cleaning. Loved the books and puzzles for our children and the buckets and spades were a godsend as we had forgotten ours! Crispy clean white sheets and towels made for a very comfortable sleep. The decor was fresh and had little decor touches that made it feel very homely whilst in keeping with the kiwi bach beach vibe, would definitely recommend for families and would book here again when we return!

Very nice hostel right in the small and cute Hahei town, walking distance to the stunning Hahei beach, and great to start from to hike to Cathedral Cove (just 40 min). Very nice wooden room with super comfortable bed and bed linen, clean shared bathroom, spacious and welcoming shared kitchen and living room. Very convenient parking right in front of the room. Possibility to do laundry but you’ll need NDZ cash. The staff is really nice and helpful too. I loved the birds in the morning! Will stay here again next time!

Hahei is beautiful.

Hahei is beautiful. Hahei beach is so beautiful as is Hot Water Beach. If I could I would return to Hahei time and time again. The little town of Hahei has what you need, a small general store, liquor store and restaurants. If you need a big grocery shop, you need to go in Whitianga which is a long drive around (45 minutes to an hour) or one can go by ferry at Cooks Bay and walk into town for a bigger shop, but be sure to have a trolley bag to carry your groceries. I would say that is the only disadvantage to Hahei,

Hahei is a cute little place, ideal for a 2 night stay.

Hahei is a cute little place, ideal for a 2 night stay. Hahei has a beautiful beach and you are also very close to Cathedral Cove and Hot Water beach so it’s a great location. Both these spots are a must when you are visiting Hahei. We walked to Cathedral Cove from our apartment. It took us about 40 min and is a pretty steep incline for the first half of the walk but worth it for the views. We took the water taxi back from the cove to Hahei which was a quick but very fun trip. Hot Water beach is a unique experience. Take your shovel and be sure to check when low tide is before you make the trip over there. The Pour House in Hahei is a great spot to sit and have a drink outside. Their pizzas and fish & chips are also great. There are several other spots for breakfast and coffee too that are also great.

Hahei is central for visiting other beaches nearby such as Cathedral Cove, currently accessible only by boat or kayak. We took the boat/water taxi and had a great trip - bonus - saw dolphins. We also visited Coromandel township via SH25 - quite a windy road but worth the trip for the views and to walk around Coromandel township.

Very picturesque beach, boat tour company very friendly/professional, limited options for easy dining (it was winter so some shops/cafe closed), but The Pour House was excellent and Beach Cafe was good value.

Our host was lovely and helpful and it was the perfect location . The negative things I posted were just meant for constructive info , when was asked what could be improved upon! Overall , despite the small room , it was Excellent ! I would stay there again ! ( please remove what appears as negative!)

Wonderful, clean, tasteful place to stay!

Wonderful, clean, tasteful place to stay! We loved our time here! Very short walk to the beach and town eateries/shops. Erin was lovely and gave helpful information about things to do. A real bonus was her darling dog Cleo. Would highly recommend staying here!

An amazing weekend away. The Hahei Beach Bach was the perfect getaway with everything we needed and also little touches like chocolate and candles. Gavin the host was very responsive, the bed super comfy and a huge shower with great pressure. We wouldn't hesitate to return - 11/10!
