The whole place was excellent. The location near the beach which the excellent host Jay pointed out to us was an added bonus. We had the privilege of seeing Adele in concert a few years ago. The shower cubicle in the bathroom reminded us of the set she used in the song ‘Set Fire to the Rain’. The song concept makes no sense but the shower was amazing just like at Minaret Ridge!

Beautiful lake and mountain views.

Beautiful lake and mountain views. It’s an LONG winding mountain road from Queenstown…you wouldn’t want to be commuting back and forth from there (like I thought we were going to do!) Ate dinner at a fabulous Indian and Nepalese restaurant just back from the main road (top ranking restaurant on Trip Advisor). The tree in the lake was a bit of a funny “tourist attraction!”

Wanaka is such a beautiful town ,personally it's my favourite town in the south Island and second favourite town in New Zealand! The lake and view of the mountains from the lake are just beautiful. Lots to do around Wanaka too. I would highly recommend Wanaka to anyone wanting to visit.

We were in Wanaka to hike French Ridge.

We were in Wanaka to hike French Ridge. Unfortunately, the snow line was too low and deep, so we made the call to turn back. It was a 30km day, but we loved being in Mt Aspiring National Park. The following day we hiked Mt Isthmus, a definite leg workout but the views made it worthwhile. Some of our party then took a dip in Lake Wanaka to ease the muscles! There are plenty of food options and bars too within easy reach to suit all pockets. Such a fabulous part of the country.

Very Pretty,lots of places to have a coffee or drinks,enjoyed a drink on the waterfront looking at a amazing view,also scenic drive to Lake Hawea and went as far as the lookout when the road takes you to top of Lake Wanaka.Would of loved to had more time to do some short walks.

Wanaka is a great little town.

Wanaka is a great little town. Primarily a stepping stone to the ski resorts. However we did not go the the resorts. We did do a day trip to Blue Pools and the nearby waterfalls (Thunder falls). the drive was scenic and the pools were well worth having a look at. Thunderfalls is certainly a photo spot as well. We circled back to wanaka and had a look at the Wanaka tree. Its a great picture just prior to sunset as the branches of the tree have and orangy color to them.

Amazing location, can not be beaten. Wānaka is gorgeous and you can walk to everything from this hotel. My daughter loves the lake and playground which is less than a 2 min walk. The Mexican place was really nice next door. The laundry was excellent we did all our washing easily. The communal kitchen was great for extra bowls and forks etc. the green space outside was excellent for our 4 year old.

We were so impressed with this accommodation. The hosts provided such clear and efficient communication, the apartment was tidy, the heating was amazing as our stay was in August and the accommodation was stocked with everything we needed. Parking was easy and location was great and a close walk to the Cardrona Hotel. Highly recommend!

Clean, tidy, self check in at 15:00, very good air condition. the Car close to the room, tv, Very good location close to lake. Good kitchen & facilities inc free laundry. comfortable bed and very nice room. Excellent value for money.

We had a wonderful stay at Hawea Hotel. The view overlooking Lake Hawea was absolutely breathtaking – waking up to those lake and mountain vistas felt like a dream. The room was clean, cozy, and spacious, with a lovely balcony to enjoy the scenery. The staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home.
