We paid $1 at the Reefton Information Centre, which has a very good mining display, to buy a leaflet on a walk around historic Reefton. It was an excellent purchase and allowed us to wander around Reefton, see and learn its history.

Our trip was for four wheel driving into old gold mine sites. Plenty to see and do here. Reefton is one of the few places still readily available for unlimited four wheel driving. Please dont be like the rest of the country and start closing areas down.

Reefton is a lovely town.

Reefton is a lovely town. The river hydro walk is enjoyable as to the local pubs. Dawsons provides a good meal. The new Pizza parlour Bassano makes great pizza, though I thought the wine was overpriced. Accomodation were I have stayed, both great places. Different price points but neither can be faulted. Harold House and The Old Vicarage.

There is a lot of natural and historical interest to be found in Reefton. It has an unusual and charming shopping street. Good cafes. Enjoyed our meals at Wilson’s Hotel. Friendly, chatty people who made us feel welcome. Enjoyed visiting Waiuta ghost goldmine town , but be careful on the narrow road.

The place is basic but clean and comfortable.

The place is basic but clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and help you in all your needs. My husband had a health issue and the Michelle helped me with informations and support to solve it. I felt very comfortable with them. The place is basic, but the view from the backyard is very nice. I recommend this place and I would come back.

Fabulous town, have been to Reefton many times as I came from Westport, now live in Australia. My Australian neighbours stayed here last year and loved it, as we did. The town is doing very well with tourists I know love it. So congratulations to your town.

It is worth going to Reefton just to stay at Harold House. The historic home has been lovingly restored and is every bit as beautiful as the photos. And the breakfast was amazing. I never wanted to leave. Very close to the Main Street and only a couple of km from the spectacular Blacks Point museum.
