It’s so cute. Literally in the middle of nowhere ( go there soon - seems like there is a lot of planned development ) . We sat on the rocks in front of the guest house and drank in the frankly unbelievable views. The room is comfortably appointed , and very clean. Bed is hard. The included dinner was varied and tasty. We loved the goats roaming around and the uniqueness of being in a little working village where life is still going on as it no doubt was centuries ago. So quiet and peaceful. Walking from one side to another you got both sunsets and sunrises. The road is awful , but being worked on , and it’s nothing you can’t handle with a 4WD. Moshin is an exceptional young man doing a fantastic job.

It was not only the accommodation, but also the host, Mr. Ahmed, which made our stay extremely pleasant and comfortable. The Village is truly a gem among the barren mountains. The accommodation offers just enough comfort without spoiling the atmosphere of the place. Let's hope we manage to keep this balance. What we liked: - Pleasant covered terrace with perfect views of terraced fields, surrounding mountains - Guide books, information material on attractions in the area - Friendly staff and hosts with plenty of advice and ideas to help you relax. - A hearty Omani/Indian breakfast on the terrace. - On the day of our arrival, a very tasty, hearty dinner was prepared on request - The road from Nizwa is really bumpy, (4x4 off-road vehicle mandatory), but that is part of the adventure. - A small canyon is easily accessible in the immediate vicinity of the village.

Excellent location, host was very helpful and gave us great recommendations for things to do in the area. Comfortable, clean, and close to all the best hikes and sites in the area. We highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place to stay in Jabal Shams.

This is the most beautiful property in a fairytale village. Wonderful authentic Omani house. Kemal the manager was very helpful and arranged a day’s canyoning with a guide.
