Fig Shades is a great place to relax and a great base to visit Wadi Shab and Wadi Tiwi/Mibam. Mr. Santosh is a very kind and helpful host! He helped me arrange a trip to Wadi Mibam at a great price by Omani standards, which is great because the road to get there is difficult. There are also 3 restaurants nearby (10 min walk) as well as grocery shops (5-10 min walk). The garden is beautiful and the swimming pool is also nice. When you reach the big tree on the side of the road (the one that’s shown on Google street view), keep going a few meters towards the flyover and you’ll find a ‘Fig Shades’ signboard. If you can’t read Arabic, it’s the hotel next to 'Tiwi Omantel Telephone Exchange’ on Google Maps.

My room was spacious and comfortable. My room was on the top floor. I was sharing the kitchen, balcony and the living room with two other rooms, but it was still comfortable. The sea facing views are amazing.

It is just great place with perfect location, views ( sunrise, sea, wadi shab mountains), not far away from Sur and about 1,20 hour to Muscat. Host and his dog Lilly :))) very hospitable, open minded, attentive, ready to help and advice. We stayed here for 3 nights, but its really good place to stay here longer.

I rarely rate anywhere 10/10 so this says how good it is. There is air con & fans in each room, high quality WiFi (I had a video meeting without any issues), and a decent hot water shower. The friendly host can order you breakfast, lunch and dinner from a local takeaway (it was affordable & tasty!). There are two communal lounges, two balconies facing the sea, one big dining table, and one plunge pool. There's even CCTV for the parking area, not that it's needed as Oman is very safe. You won't be disappointed staying here. BTW you need 2-3 daylight hours to really enjoy Wadi Shab (45 min one-way hike to the first pool + 20 min one-way swim to the cave - a regular car is fine). You need a 4WD if you want to go to Wadi Tiwi. Also the location of Tiwi Pearl is correct on Google maps.
