FAQs about hotels in Warsaw

Always on the Move

A city on the move, Warsaw is constantly changing in an effort to rebuild what was lost during World War Two. There’s no better example of this than the stunning Old Town Square, where pastel facades sit alongside dome-topped spires.

Starting here is the Royal Route which passes several historic buildings on its way out to Wilanów, where an ornate Royal Palace is set in a huge park that was the retreat of kings since the 17th century. Just as grandiose is the Palace of Culture and Science, Stalin’s gift to Warsaw that still manages to evoke feelings of hatred and love in equal measure. Go up to the terrace for panoramic city views.

Other cultural offerings are the Warsaw Uprising Museum, considered the best museum in Poland, and traditional bars that still serve down-to-earth food washed down with a shot of vodka - a throwback to the Communist era. Don’t expect to find a seat though – there aren’t any.

Warsaw also has a thriving club scene and more shopping centres than you could throw a stick at. Not that you’d want to, as you’ll be too busy picking up the bargains.

Just outside the city is Warsaw Airport, efficiently linked by public transport to the city’s hotels, guest houses and hostels, available on Booking.com.

Warsaw is worth exploring regardless of the season.

Warsaw is worth exploring regardless of the season. Not as historic as Krakow or Gdansk but still a lot to see. Best of all, public transport makes it the easiest way to explore, with group ticket (up to 5 people) you can spend the weekend with your friends travelling anywhere you like for around £10.

Warsaw has MUCH to offer but it takes time to get oriented to the transportation options and get a sense of directions. I had little help to navigate the city so I had to rely on MAPS on my phone. MAPS there is not as accurate as it is in California but somehow I managed. If you are 70 or above you can ride the city transportation- all of it- for FREE. Go to one of the transportation offices to verify this--and always carry your passport when you're using bus-metro-tram- as they do check for tickets. A Brit woman was fined about 30 euro for not having a ticket--her excuse: 'I was told they're not needed on Sundays,' did not fly. Next time I will be more prepared and the visit will go more smoothly as I will know how to get around. GOOGLE translate was invaluable in many instances.

Warsaw has a lot of aspects worthy of a visit, from history to food and entertainment. Poland, in general, is a beautiful country rich in culture with access to see and mountains. I appreciate the coalescence of modern with old and beautiful architectual heritage of its past.

Warsaw is wonderful.

Warsaw is wonderful. One old square feeds into a second square with wonderful things to enjoy, churches, shops, restaurants, along the way. Our visit to the museum on the square was too short due to schedule. We could have spent another hour or so. So much history - and to think much of what one sees is detailed restoration after WWII. The buildings are magnificently restored. The additional museums are wonderful. There is a lot to see and experience in Warsaw. We have already planned a return trip next April.

Lovely hotel located right in the heart of Warsaw’s old town, just a few minutes’ walk from the main square and the castle. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was rich and varied with a good international selection. The spa is nice, although a bit small, and the hot tub is not very functional due to the limited space.

Well thought hotel format. Ideal for people working or combining work and leisure in my opinion, with great tech set up, fast WiFi and a nice terrace bar open until late. Modern room design. Very clean. Everyone in the staff has been extremely kind. Thanks Jakub at the reception for the warm welcome. My second best place to sleep over in Poland after my house.

The hotel is located at 30min walk from Warsaw old town - Stare Miasto. The breakfast is superb, to use the rating from booking - with soo many options, including the possibility to get different styles of poached eggs. The formalities were very quick, staff friendly, room cleaned every day; water and coffee in the room.
