Very nice place, the room, maybe only the bathroom is small, but the food in the restaurant is amazing. Breakfast was also good.

Great location, facing the river, for a quick walking visit over the old bridge to Gorlitz. Museum just along the road and many restaurants on the same stretch of road. Public parking is good and free at weekends. Restaurant staff were cheerful and helpful when checking in. Restaurant food was excellent in the evening, and breakfast was a pleasure. We stayed here purely so we could visit Gorlitz, Germany on foot. This hotel proved ideal for that. The floods throughout the area did cause the river to rise, but only affected the footpath along the riverbank.

Fantastic location, just 100m from the bridge to walk to the centrumnof Görlitz. The hotel has a great restaurant where the owner, Paweł also around the tables during the dinner. He has always some nice words for the guests. His staff also professional. The breakfast was delicious, too. The hotel has his own and safe parking place. During our stay was a sound system street fest where we got experience to have fun together with polish people!!! (At midnight the fest was finished as in advanced anounced, so was no problem to sleep during the night!). Just can recommend this hotel to everybody who is intested in Görlitz and/or Zgorzelec.

Zgorzelec is only worth the trip if you are arriving from...

Zgorzelec is only worth the trip if you are arriving from Poland and want to see the German part of the town (Goerlitz) on the other side of the "Neisse" river. Apart from some Restaurants along the river close to the pedestrian bridge (Altstadtbruecke) there is not much to see or to do on the Polish side really. It's just that you can save some money when you are renting your place and eating your food on the Polish side but be careful and crosscheck the prices with your exchange-rate. Some of those Restaurants near the border make a good living off the German "tourists" for which those prices in Zloty seem cheap, but when you are Polish some of them are simply a rip-off. Just walk for another 5 minutes off the regular tourist-trail and you will find good restaurants with normal prices.

One thing to realise about the area is that Zgorzelec used...

One thing to realise about the area is that Zgorzelec used to be part of Gorlitz. They are now separated by a river but aren't really two different towns. For example there isn't really a town centre in Zygorzelec that is on the Gorlitz side. The riverside on both sides is nice but I did spend a lot of time on the German side though it was great to come back to the Pension. Prices much lower in Zygorzelec in my view.

We stayed on the Polish side and got our food on that side...

We stayed on the Polish side and got our food on that side of the border for the sake of economy. The German side of the border is much the more beautiful, but there is a very nice restaurant riverside strip on the Polish side which offers better food and liquids.

I liked that the city wasn’t overwhelmed with tourists. Beautiful city with art nouveau architecture that was easily walkable with pedestrian only streets in the old city. You can cross over the bridge between Germany and Poland and there are some nice restaurants along the river on the Polish side. Jacob’s inn was a good choice for lunch and dinner with outside seating in good weather.

The city divided in two different worlds, here begins the eastern Europe. From one side you have Slavic Poland, from other side you have Germany, very interesting to live between and to have a choice. Czech Republic is close as well and forms the mix between German and Slavic way of life and mentality. while everything was closed in Germany and CZ because of Corona rules, almost everything was open in Poland. 160 km from Prague, 160 km from Wroclaw, 220 km from Berlin, 100 km from Dresden. Nice place to escape the reality.

We get earlier message with checking in information and directions to the hotel - which was very helpful considering the location. Hotel is in the building of printing company so this can be confusing, also access via `Biedronka` shop driveway. The room was spacious and clean, bathroom big. Some of the furnitures bit dated but for one night was ok. Room equipped with kettle and tea/coffee which was very usefull for the morning wakeup drink.

For travel the location is good as the motorway is very close, for a 2star hotel the food options were very good and the food was very nice. You can bring your dog down to breakfast aswell as long as you eat on the terrace. There's a petrol station also extremely close aswell as a biedronka.

The dinner was very good and the service in restaurant was exceptional, I think they even kept the restaurant open a bit longer due to us ! The hotel/castle is also very nice!
