Beautiful. There are many fascinating old buildings, cozy cafes, great beaches, and steep hills to climb. Great nature reserve at Monte Brasil. The people are very friendly. Quite a few facilities in this small little town. Very relaxing.Guest review byJanPortugal - 8.0

Hilly nice little town with historical center and marina. Not easy to drive through and park, but excellent for walking. Not many souvenir shops, and lots of cheap Chinese fake products but comparing to other towns in Azores this one is quite big. Bars, restaurants and bistros are there but these are not the best, they are sufficient though. The natural reserve on peninsula with citadel and military base is extraordinary. If you like a garden, a museum, a church, a fort or two etc...
If you like a garden, a museum, a church, a fort or two etc sight seeing then spend a whole day in and around Angra town. Recommend walk round Monte Brasil close by its very interesting we took half a day walking it. Forget hiring a scooter to see the island we hired a car and spend a full long day driving clockwise round island exploring viewpoints, cave, cheese farm, wine museum, highest volcano mountain etc. Unique island cultural discoveries we made were were seeing cheerfully painted little holy trinity espirito house in every village and watch out for 'Tourada a corda' (bullfight by rope) runs test of manhood - this is big on Terceira. We really appreciated the balcony and the two bathrooms and the air conditioning. The swimming options are great – there's a beautiful and easy accessible bathing bay right next to the hotel, and the outside pool and indoor pool are perfect for small children. The work done by the architect and designers is spectacular. Everything is in a distance of less than 3 minutes walking. This includes all the nice restaurants of the city, the beach and the central square with the city hall. We stayed for 5 days with my wife and we were very happy with the room.
