Beach at Esposende too difficult to swim in due to pepples. Other beaches at Ofir and Apulia excellent. Limited supply of restaurants and limitless supply of banks!!! Surprised by the obvious wealth amongst the Portuguese people with holiday homes here. Very few estrangers. Not for sailors. Good for families. A very lovely little town, with lots of nice cafes and...
A very lovely little town, with lots of nice cafes and restuarants to choose from. Especially liked the italian pizzeria in the town square, food was delicious. There were also some nice shops. We did not actually go to Esposende.
We did not actually go to Esposende. As booking.com should be perfectly well aware, our hotel is situated in Ofir which is probably about 5 km away. All the good restaurants are outside Esponsende - mainly in Apulia. A nice little hike or short taxi ride. Bridge to Fao needs some TLC, at least if you walk over it. Fantastic views, but the rusty bits on the footpath high above the water are somewhat anxiety-inducing (and I even heard that from experienced Camino walkers ...) Esposende was one of the best places to stay that we have...
Esposende was one of the best places to stay that we have had on this trip for the Camino de Santiago. The people that run the hotel are wonderful and very friendly. Everything is very clean and they have a great lounge with a good kitchen to make what you want. We thought everybody had left town.
