Spotlessly clean, welcoming staff, very spacious and comfortable bed, great breakfast and nice sauna. It’s a walking distance to access to a sea swimming area and the unesco winery. We could see mount Pico from our window. Perfect stay.

I don't understand why so many people are complaining about this hotel. It is as close to the ferry terminal as you can get. , The rooms are clean and tidy. The pool has a nice view on Faial, and is beeing cleaned every morning (and they are probably the only ones having a pool in Pico anyway...) You can walk in less than 5 minutes to all the different tour operators (Diving, Hiking, Whalewatching, Rentalcars....) and restaurants. It is maybe a bit dated, but I felt like they were doing their best at being welcomig. They even organise a mini breakfast buffet from 04 a.m - 7 a.m for people leaving early on hikes or diving tours...! Keep in mind that every Airbnb in the area is more expensive , without offering you room service, breakfast or a pool area. If you come to Pico for its great nature activities, and want an easy hotel, thats your place to go!!

It was such a pleasure staying at the Aires hostel! The owner was such a hard working woman and you could feel that she put her heart into every detail. We arrived quite early in the morning and I asked if it was possible to check in earlier. She told us there were guests checking out in the morning so it was not possible to get into the room earlier but when we arrived, she already had the room ready within such a short time!! We checked in way earlier than expected, which was super nice :-) all other areas are incredibly clean and she provides some basic things in the kitchen like coffee and fresh fruit besides the standard kitchen utensils. Alexandra and her family and partner took great care of us and it felt a lot like staying with a local family. I can only highly recommend staying here if you’re in Pico!! Besides the incredible interpersonal experience, the hostel is also in a good location. Just 5 minutes walking to the next supermarket and there are swimming spots very close by as well. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such an amazing stay at your hostel!

The host Stefan is extremely lovely. I was given a quick tour of the hostel and was free to choose whichever bunk bed I wanted. The beds are amazing: outlet, personal light, curtains that let no light in, space to put your things, very comfortable mattress, large lockers. The breakfast was also lovely. Stefan will make you his signature pancakes (also vegan and gluten free if you want). There is also yoghurt, bread, different jams, fruit and cereal. Speaking of food: make sure you participate in the "family dinners". The home-cooked meals (form starters to soup, main, and desert) are amazing. Stefan not only cooks better than most restaurants I have been to on the azores, but you'll also be fed until you explode and that for a very fair price. Finally, I loved the co-working space with nice chairs, privacy and fast WIFI.
