This time Lisbon was not as wonderful as I had experienced it in earlier years. Reason: There are simply too many tourists in the places of interest, Cruise Ships disturb the views and the thousands of passengers are not really spending much, rather just storming touristic destinations. Consequence: The local people are fed-up, loosing their politeness, I (72) was told three times in 2 days “fuck off!” without any tangible reason.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

The people are great and the food is good. Easy to get fish in the restaurants and nearly always a vegetarian option. Very easy to get around in Lisbon. If you take the bus, just use a contactless card. If you use the tram, you do the same. The train stations are amazing, they just look like ordinary buildings. Rossio station is beautiful from the outside. We took a train to Sintra to see the Pena Palace. We also did one of the walking tours which was very useful. I find the pavements slippery and dangerous. I know Lisbon is very proud of it's pavements made from small bricks/stones but some are crumbling and probably very slippery when wet. Lisbon is a GREAT CITY; Portugal is a GREAT COUNTRY!!! I know the history of that Great Country and Great People. So wish others would have my knowledge and appreciation. In the pantheon of great civilizations, this small country is among the best! We took the red, yellow and green routes of the hopp on hopp off busses but it is better to start with the green route to St George Castle in the morning instead of late in the afternoon as we were not able to complete it in 2024 so we tried to do it this 2025. The day trip in Sintra, Cascais and Estoril was also best and because we were there for our Fatima pilgrimage every Oct 10-13 we have enough time as pilgrims first and tourists from Oct 14-17 around Lisbon. If you love shopping like our group Lisbon has enough to offer with several big shopping centers and Outlet outside the city.
