On the hottest day 38C, we arrived early and Isabel kindly allowed us to check in early. Much appreciated. The accommodation was 💯 spotless!! As hikers we appreciated the kettle, fridge and washing line with pegs on the balcony.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The location is pure wilderness, surrounded by nature, with breathtaking, unpolluted night skies full of stars. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming. Al has amazing stories about wine and offers a great wine tasting experience, while Ana prepares delicious meals and is super helpful with tips on what to see in the area. The design of the place is stunning, the mattresses and bedding are top-notch, and everything feels truly first-class. It’s a unique spot, definitely worth visiting. We highly recommend it! This place is truly special — a beautiful project by Kristof and Koenraad that, as Koenraad said, comes straight from their hearts and is generously shared with other people From the main terrace, you can take in a stunning view of the entire valley. The grounds are gorgeous, and the pool is just perfect for a refreshing swim. You can also enjoy a game of pétanque while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. Inside, the living room is cozy and welcoming, with incredible music playing — the hosts have fantastic taste. It’s the perfect spot to relax and gaze out over the valley. Kristof and Koenraad gave us a room with a balcony and a view stretching all the way to the ocean on the horizon. Everything was spotlessly clean and carefully arranged down to the smallest detail. Breakfasts were a real highlight — especially Kristof’s homemade pastries. Absolutely delicious! They also shared amazing local tips and recommendations every day, always checking in to make sure we had great plans and weren’t missing anything. Their care and attention were exceptional. I truly believe very few people in the world offer such kind of hospitality that Kristof and Koenraad do. If you’re looking for a unique and memorable for your vacation - this is the place.     I don’t expect all hotels to be accessible for the elderly...

    I don’t expect all hotels to be accessible for the elderly or disabled but I do believe booking.com should clearly indicate when a facility is NOT suitable for us. The photos and description of Casa da Umbria were accurate but didn’t tell the whole truth. I can normally make it up the 13-15 stairs to reach a first floor walk-up especially if there’s a good handrail. I didn’t expect to have to climb steep cobblestone walkways followed by 34 steps without a handrail ending in a death-defying 90 degree spiral-type turn to get to the front door. Then there were all the other defects noted in my review. The hostess prepared a wonderful breakfast and helped us schedule a taxi and bus to our next destination but she became very defensive when I mentioned the stairs so I shut up and didn’t even try to suggest anything else. I can’t say anything for or against Odemira in general because I was essentially trapped in our room until we left.

    Residencial Rita is the perfect spot for overnight hikers. We hiked from Sao Teotonio to Odemira. The location is excellent, right in the middle of town close to many bars and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable with a lovely hot water shower. The breakfast was delicious (early hikers, note it starts at 8am) and the owner was very helpful and friendly and arranged transport for us the next day. The town itself is very picturesque, along the banks of a river.

    A great place to stay for a couple of nights when traveling through Odemira. Rooms and bathrooms are large and very clean. The balcony space and view is great. I stayed while on my bike riding trip down the Alentejo and I was able to keep my bike in the store room.
