We loved Olhao, such a beautiful place. The long prom with cafes is so clean and scenic. The boat trips are a must and next time we would try a different one. Would love to return. We didn't eat out a lot but the food was amazing in the restaurants we went to. Reccommend!
Olhao has a charm that has made me return several times. Wonderful restaurants and bars, cobbled streets and a laid back vibe. A town where tourists sit alongside locals. A beautiful sandy beach accessed by the ferry where a there are no crowds and some days it will seem as though you have the beach to yourself.
Less spoiled than other areas on the coast. Very welcoming. old world charm and an amazing selection of reasonably priced restaurants. Ferry trip worthwhile. Great for a quiet visit. Could have stayed longer!
Olhão has a lot going for it. Lots of wonderful bars and restaurants, from budget to high end. There are plenty of shops, and the ferries to the islands in the Ria Formosa are cheap and very enjoyable. There are frequent trains with cheap fares, to go along the coast to Vila Real on the Spanish border, and many other coastal places such as Fuseta and Tavira. It’s good to go to Faro too, which is a beautiful small city. Olhão is extremely characterful and is not too touristy and feels very traditional.
We really enjoyed the fish. It would be helpful to hire a car as we found it difficult to find our way around the old town with it's maze of roads. As we didin't have a car we took a train to Tavira and the fares for seniors are half price despite being tourists. The Uber service is absolutely brilliant and was a life saver.
Nice quiet area with easy public transport to get around the Algarve, albeit some locations would take a long time without a car. Easy to get to the islands with the ferries to all the locations being here.

The house is great, everything you need, air conditioned and comfy beds. The gardens and pool area are beautiful. The football pitch was great for a daily play with our dog. Ideally situated between Fuseta (8 mins by car) and Olhâo (15 mins by car) but could easily access bus or train to Tavira, Fuseta, Olháo and Faro. Nice cafe Marieta's for bread, cakes and coffee, 2 mins walk. Artisan pottery across the road. Can walk to Formosa in 20 mins. Each place has own charm, very different but all lovely.
The hotel is situated in a quiet area ca 600 mts distant to the main road where you find everything you need. Rooms are comfortable, equipped with TV and fridge. Some have a balcony to watch the sunset. Rooms are exceptionally clean with daily service. You can arrange a good breakfast. Owner Daniel is friendly and helpful and has excellent knowledge about the region. He offers laundry service as well. The attached bar is home to a nice cat.
Great apartment with plenty of space - we were 4 people. Very clean and well appointed. Laura was a great host and gave us lots of info and recommendations, and even followed up with information about a specific request. We stayed 5 days and this was an excellent location for exploring Olhão beyond the waterfront into the rest of the city. 100% walkable - we parked the car and didn't need it except for a couple of day trips.

Absolutely beautiful apartment in a stunning quiet location a couple of miles outside of Olhao. The owners Manuela and Miguel along with their housekeeper Ligia made our stay the best on our trip through Spain and Portugal. The countryside around monte das perdizes is full of walks, and wildlife is abundant. If you want easy access to the towns but also solitude away from the tourist trap, this is the place to stay.
It was my third time in this hotel and I absolutely love it. Breakfast is very good, rooftop swimming pool is amazing, staff and facilities are incredible, tidy and clean. They rooms are not big, but very well designed with smart storage incorporated into the shelving. Location is excellent, Olhao is one of my favourite towns in Portugal, quiet, brilliant food and beautiful old town. Highly recommend!

Reception Staff at Real Marina Hotel (who manage the apartment) were excellent. They are point of contact for any issues. Hotel facilities are all available in Real Marina Hotel at extra cost. We were given a 3 bed apartment (we paid for a 2 bed) which was clean and very spacious. We had a balcony with furniture outside. Pool area was pleasant to sit around on the roof, even in January !!
Great basic hotel in Olhao - clean and all you need for a night - bonus of having a supermarket downstairs to get refreshments/breakfast if needed. There is a terrace for residents which is for the use of all residents which was an added bonus. Not an easy walk into Olhao which was the only draw back.
pool is nice, staff is very friendly and helpful.. on our departure day they gave us a breakfast bag because we left too early.. it was sweet of them.. location is good, not too far from the seaside.. they clean the pool thoroughly every morning. cute, cosy, little hotel.
Perfect location and facilities. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Large bathroom although not the best layout. Will never understand why in a modern and recent hotel you’ll find a bathtub instead of a walk in shower. Good amenities also

Charming hotel in the city center. Very stylish and clean. What makes it really great is the hostes, Andreia, who helps you with a big smile, and ensures you have everything you need. Recommended!
Host was extremely friendly and helpful. House is in the best part of Olhão with easy access to restaurants and supermarkets. An overall lovely time!
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Beautiful boutique hotel. Excellent breakfast. Big room overlooking the patio area with pool.
