Stayed in November for hiking as it is cooler, yet still in the twenties. The house is much bigger than it looks and two of us stayed for a very enjoyable week. The house is in an incredibly beautiful valley with gorgeous views. It has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The host and mother live near by and are very friendly. They invited us to make cous cous with them which was a real eye opener. We had a rental car which was very cheap and makes it easy to tour the island. We hiked PR17 which is not for the faint hearted but has waterfalls and tunnels, PR8 by the coast which has fabulous views, PR6 which also has beautiful waterfalls and Fanal Forest also known as the cloud forest, very magical. In addition we visited Funchal for the gardens and some shopping, swam in the natural sea pools and visited the valley of the nuns.

Absolutely fantastic Villa on a unique location just few minutes drive from the ocean but with wonderful Mountain View. The villa is large, brand new, extremely clean and beautiful. Includes fully equipped kitchen, 3 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms and wonderful living room. Jacuzzi at the garden just strengthens the experience. The host Marco is super nice and helpful, the villa comes with an access to the swimming pool at the hotel nearby. This was one of our most beautiful accommodations ever. Very thankful.

Silvia was a really nice and helpful host. She waited for us to handle the keys, was super flexible with the check out and accommodated all our needs. We traveled with a baby and needed some more stuff for the kitchen (like a mixer and some bowls) and next day she already brought everything we asked. This location is simply out-of-this-world beautiful. I did a lot of driving around Madeira, 700km in a week, so I saw a lot of places. Sao Vicente is lush, green, mountainous and breathtaking. I'm definitely glad we stayed here.

This is a beautiful, small town in the north side you should definitely stay in. It's central to most everything (even though a huge chunk of a convenient road to some trails was closed...) and has its own lovely charm.

Helena is very kind helpful and welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. The area is beautiful, the house is in the perfect location to explore the north part/north west, and spend time in the capital city. House has huge en-suite rooms and a great size well-equipped kitchen, living room, and terrace with outdoor furniture. We had dinner every day in Sao Vicente (5 min by car) Restaurante Calamar. Excellent food, and we were happy with everything we tried. I am sure will go and stay here next time when we'll visit the island.

Sao Vicente is a great base for exploring the north of the island without really having a huge amount going for it per se (nothing negative). But Seixal is only a few km away and is my favourite village on the island! Sao Vicente does have a few ok restaurants by the sea but I had better meal experiences elsewhere during my trip. The local caves are closed for the next year or so.

The village is absolutely beautiful.

The village is absolutely beautiful. Ideal for walking around. The views are just stunning, especially if you walk on top of the hill where the small chapel is. It's just difficult to get there if you want to use public transport. Buses there are a nightmare. We were lucky enough that our previous host took us there from Funchal. Otherwise we would struggle as nobody whom we asked in Funchal knew where the bus stop was for bus going to Sao Vicente.

The hotel is on a hill in the beautiful valley of Sao Vicente. Our room had a view of the magnificent mountains and the sea and it was amazing. The hotel and the room are pretty, the room has a small fridge, nice bathroom, and my favourite part was a balcony. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The breakfast has a good choice of food, even though it doesn’t change much from day to day.

This is an absolutely stunning property in the most amazing location. The owner really has thought of everything to make a stay here perfect. We really appreciated the beach towels, toiletries, slippers & bath robes as extra touches. Close to great places to eat and to the centre of Sao Vicente with beautiful ocean views.

The owner is helpfull, and will tell you everything about shops, restaurants, and bus traffic. Hostel itself is located in beautiful area, and the views are amazing. Hostel is clean, and you get to meat great people, from all around the world. Sao Vicente itself is very popular for surfing.

The surrounding mountains were very impressive. We particularly liked the garden of the property, and the changing views of the clocktower of Our Lady of Fatima. There were several restaurants within walking distance in Sao Vicente, both on the seafront and in the old village centre.
