Owner and his granddaughter made us very thorough excursion about production of vines and plentiful vine tasting after that. Owner changed our room to nice suite without any surcharge. This was very nice evening and night in Quinta de Sao Tiago. Also good breakfast.

Unhais da Serra is a very small town.

Unhais da Serra is a very small town. It has one outstanding restaurant - As Thermas and another couple of ones that are good options as well. A couple of local shops that carry the delicious cheeses, charcuterie and liquors made in Serra da Estrela. We always stop to replenish or stock - we prefer the tiny mini-market, but the fancier shop has sweatshirts, slippers and interesting items as well. It's the perfect get-away for rest and relaxation. We park the car at the H2otel and do walking to everywhere we need to go over the weekend. I'd say a 3-4 night stay is ideal.

Exquisite scenery, well placed for exploring the Serra, with a reasonable number of cafes/restaurants given the size of the village. It was easy to get around (small diversion in place for roadworks) but it was off season.

We've stayed in Unhais da Serra as a base for exploring Serra de Estrela and the region. The town is nicely located in a valley, and pretty well connected - the closest bigger city Covilha is about 20mins drive. There are few well established restaurants in the town with good ratings and decent local food choices. Also a good store with local cheeses, delicacies and craft. It's certainly a nice mountain retreat place. Will visit again in another season.

Everything about this hotel has been thoroughly considered, from the exterior design to the details in the room. The staff were excellent. The treatments were very professional and we really felt relaxed after leaving. The restaurant, from the service to the quality of the food, to the drinks was far above what I expected, very well done! I am not easy to please, admittedly, but I cannot rate this hotel highly enough and am already thinking about when I can go back!

Loved the location, the hotel itself is so beautiful - a display of old and new so harmoniously combined - and have amazing views of the Serra. Also, the staff is very helpful and available. They recommended places to visit nearby as well as restaurants - one which we went to and had an amazing time! Overall a wonderful experience that we will certainly repeat!
