Vila de Campos is a real gem, set in one of the most spectacularly scenic areas of interior Northern Portugal. We were very impressed by the level of comfort, style & cleanliness of Vila de Campos, this place is immaculately clean!!! Our top floor apartment came with a big balcony and fabulous views through forrested valleys and a mountain top backdrop in all directions. The kitchen was jam packed with everything you could possibly need to make your stay as comfortable as possible! The attention to detail here is applied throughout the entire property. It has a beautiful garden & salt water pool, a fabulous variety of plants, fruit trees, cacti and herbs arranged into a super relaxing environment with multiple areas for outdoor BBQs, cooking etc. You just couldn't do anything else in this place other than relax and enjoy yourself! Everything we have listed above is not an exaggeration, it's a reflection of the care, professionalism and natural warmth of our host Célia, whose truly kind personality oozes throughout every inch of Vila de Campos. We were left to your own devices once we had been welcomed and anything we needed was just a simple phone call away. We will most certainly visit Célia & Vila de Campos again! Fabulous bungalow - even better than the photos. Extremely well equipped and furnished. The private outside eating area & barbeque were just perfect (we had the 2 bed bungalow). The swimming pool was a great size with beautiful gardens around it - fabulous to have a swim after a day out walking in the area. The surrounding area is beautiful - we found some small roads to walk down to the lake without having to risk walking on the main road - google maps was very useful here as maps of the area aren't very clear. Also recommend picking up a walking route/attractions map from the Tourist info office. Great welcome from Carla who was always contactable if we had a query with anything. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant about 10mins walk up the road from the house.

People are very nice and helpful. We arrived in the middle of the night (around 03:45) due to flight trouble and they left us instructions for pick-up of keys. We really appreciated the offered solutions. Thanks Ernani. Our luggage arrived 2 days later and they received them on our absence. Perfect! There are around 10 or 12 small bungalows, arranged internally like apartments, with terraces and outrageous views over the valley. There are modern kitchen equipment, with induction hearth, stove, dish washer and also some pans. If you are a cook you will miss some pans and additional equipment like mixers, but for usual cooking it is sufficient. There is a heated internal pool, very nice as we stayed 5 days in autumn and had a lot of rain, wind and low temperatures. Head caps are required and can be bought on reception for 4 € each. We had our breakfast included. During the days where there were enough guests, rich and varied options were available. As people got reduced, they asked us at night before to choose food from a menu. No desperdice. Perfect! We didn't eat at restaurant, but it smelled very well during the initial days and they offer some nice combinations at a relatively high price level (this seems to be inherent to the region), but we are not really enabled to evaluate this point. Rooms were clean on arrival. In bathroom there is a heating device which allows hanging and drying of bath towels. Very nice as this small detail is often neglected at hotels. As the bungalows are placed on a steep hill, it is adequate more for a bit sporty people. Access by road is also steep but asphalted and reachable by standard vehicles. We are planning to return to Peneda-Gerês (under better weather conditions) and would certainly consider to stay at Pousadela again.

    Considering we stayed one month, it wasnt long enough. if you love unrestricted access to mountains, waterfalls, the fauna in northern Portugal. the genuine friendliness of the people, and the food, Gee Wizz , come and enjoy what they have on offer, an example of the local people, we were climbing a steep road at the foot of a mountain near Ermal, and passed by a man cutting brush, once he realised what we were attempting, he gave us armfulls of fruit from his house, Kiwis, Apples, and Oranges, Just smashing, what a lovely guy.

    Everything! It is just perfect. The place is very beautiful, the pool, the spa, the lounge.... The room has everything you need to cook (and much more) and it is really clean. The cleanest room with a kitchen that I ever was. The lounge is very comfortable (TV, sofas, board games, pool table ...) and we had coffee capsules and some butter for breakfast. The bedroom is nice and the bed is so comfortable!! I loved everything, it will be one of the most known places to stay in this region for sure.

    Lovely stopover on a driving tour of Portugal. Great views, clean, nice breakfast. The staff were brilliant and welcoming. I would highly recommend a great value meal at the nearby pancada restaurant, but do bring cash.
