The food, breakfast and evening meal, was relatively simple home cooking but plenty of it and nicely prepared. The rooms were a good size and very comfortable. The setting, in a garden by a large lake with wonderful views was outstanding. It is important to note that this is a guest house in a convent and the staff are all nuns and the decoration is all of a religious nature. However the nuns are extremely friendly and helpful and speak an extraordinary number of languages between them. They are all very happy in their work. We had a very memorable stay. We came to visit the Carl Larsson House and this was a very convenient and complementary place to stay.

The area around Falun is sublime. Apart from the bustling town center, the town is sprawling and magnificent, with its historic districts. Lake Runn is splendid. The villages surrounding Falun are beautiful. The countless forest trails leading to rivers, streams, and lakes are magical. And the accessible mountain peaks offer breathtaking views.

It's a very strange city; it feels like a ghost town.

It's a very strange city; it feels like a ghost town. There's something terrifying about the completely empty streets in the afternoon. It's as if gangs were on the loose and people were afraid to go out. Restaurants are closed for the evening.

Falun as a city isn't particularly beautiful.

Falun as a city isn't particularly beautiful. The mine is definitely a highlight and should absolutely be visited. The surrounding area is stunning. The Carl Larsschon House in Sundborn, the Linne Wedding House, and Mora are also worth a visit.

Falun was planned for us with a visit to Sundborn and we did and also a tour of beautiful Falun. The Faluån impressed us and the beautiful library Kristine Church at the square was huge, we got our own guide from a lady who worked as a churchwarden. We are so satisfied.

Nice city in the summer with lots to discover in Falun and...

Nice city in the summer with lots to discover in Falun and the surrounding area. We think the Falu copper mine is fun, tip to buy tickets in advance online as it quickly fills up for tours (in the summer). Visit tourist information to get current events with theater, swimming, bathhouses, etc. Now we have also tried it in the winter and went skiing in Bjursås for two days which was great.

We had a wonderful stay at Lakeview Houses. The location is perfect – quiet, peaceful, and with beautiful views of the lake. The house was very clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, making us feel at home from the first moment. Everything was thoughtfully prepared for guests, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, always ready to answer any questions. We would gladly come back and can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect getaway.

Amazing place to stay at! The apartment had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. We were able to wash and dry our clothes (which was great). It is close to the mine (which is a must for visiting) and close to the city center. Karen is really nice and she came to say hi while we were enjoying the evening sun on the terrace :) This is up until now one of the best places we stayed at during our 2.5 weeks road trip through Sweden! Definitely recommend!
