We went there because it's the Bitcoin City.

We went there because it's the Bitcoin City. It has a nice climate, as it is not as hot there as in the lowlands. The views from the town can be spectacular. The local people we met there, including the police, were all very nice and made us feel very welcome. There are plenty of places where you can get a decent food for a good price, although don't expect an international cuisine. The biggest problem for us was that the water was scarce as the town does not seem to have any water system and it needs to be delivered in tanks. Also we did not mind all the homeless dogs wondering around the streets, but all the time we had to be careful while walking to not step into a dog poo.

Berlín is a wonder.

Berlín is a wonder. A Salvadoran mountain town that is rapidly adopting Bitcoin as its standard currency. The amazing people at the Bitcoin centre there are doing great things and the town will definitely prosper from these choices. It's a nice reprieve to be up in the crisp mountain air away from the thick air and humidity of the lower parts of the country. Everyone we met was friendly, and the fresh fruits we bought from a street vendor were the freshest and tastiest we've ever had.

I was in Alegria and I'm not sure if its a normal thing but there were loads of street food stands and mariachi players when I was there, which was really good. The frozen banana covered in chocolate, so good.
