This was an unique stay! The surroundings have the most creative and psychedelic art I have ever seen. Alex and his wife were really warm-hearted and provided care and help that luxury hotels cannot match. They provided free fruits, coffee, and toured us around, took pictures etc. The surroundings are really peaceful and quiet and I feel well rested. There are couple of nice restaurants nearby and an elephant farm as well. Recommended if you're looking for a getaway from city life. You can feel the heart and soul poured inside each recycled and upcycled decoration and installation inside and outside the clay houses built around 15 years ago by this family business. Each corner is full of creativity and cuteness overload that causes happiness. It makes you smile, which is what a vacation is all about!

We had a lovely time here. I highly recommend a few nights, the owners are incredible cooks and made us many lovely meals, the even offered gluten free options. Excellent Thai cuisine and lovely hospitality.

The hotel is located in a beautiful valley and surrounded with the forest. The staff is helpful and very kind. There are 3 sets of multi dish breakfasts which is not much, but the variety of food within each set should compensate this. The rooms are quite new and have definitely better-than-average standard. They are pretty spacious as well, even if you choose the cheapest option. Overall, the Perana is cheaper and more comfortable than most hotels in the center of Chiang Mai, and even if you add the cost of car rental it will be still a better deal than most of other options in the area.
