I loved this place so much. Driving the last 200 meters up to Alisa’s from the main tarmac road brought you through local area with hens, children and lastly at the very end of the road to the garden of Eden, that Alisa and her husbond David had created with outmost care and imminent taste for beauty and tranquility. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in, besides my own back home. The peacefulness at Alisa’s was only enhanced by the occasional hens, hornbills and other birds, but besides these natural sounds, Alisa was quiet and totally peaceful. Now with WiFi, possible to rent their scooter, they can arrange all kinds of tickets, including shuttle to Bangkok or the airport with pickup directly at Alisa’s. I visited all the beaches at Koh Chang, and besides Klong Kloi at the very south, then Kai Bai beach had a secluded and intimate charm, that the other beaches could not match. Watching the bathing elephants in the morning was an experience of delight, seeing how much these great creates enjoyed the refreshment. Alisa’s is totally new and not only spotless, but also in very delicate and soothing colors. David and Alisa kept a discretion to my second daily visitors, and always made sure to be indoor when I came home accompanied. The only minor little inconvenience, is that I had to drive 3-4 minutes in the morning to reach Kai Bai beach for a morning swim, but the reward was instant, almost entirely alone on this beautiful beach with its tranquil and warm water.

We had a marvelous stay of 6 nights in this hotel. We picked the Sea view room, and it was just superb. The room was big, clean, and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was amazing, everyone will find his taste in the large choice they offer : Thai dishes, western dishes, Soups, fruits, freshly prepared mowed fruits salad. Perfect to start the day, especially because the breakfast area is outdoor, with a roof though, with a view on the sea. The location of the hotel itself is very well : at the beach front, quiet area, and at a 3min walking distance from the main road where you will find a variety of restaurants, tour operators today organize your snorkeling trips, laundry service, and our truly beloved 7-11 supermarket of course! The staff was lovely, taking care good care of us and always smiling. Every evening, the narrow beach of the hotel is used to set tables for dinner. It's pretty, romantic, and you can order either some food from their menu, or fresh seafood or meat BBQ, or even Mukata! The prices are obviously higher than when you eat in a restaurant on the main street, but it's normal and not too overpriced though. It worth it. The pool is clean, the water is at a good temperature, and you can see the sea while swimming.

Sylvan is vertical resort and beautiful.

Sylvan is vertical resort and beautiful. They do a great job helping you get around. Expensive but you get your moneys worth. Great staff, great views, Santhiya Tree was impressive but probably looked really nice 8 years ago. Over priced, hard to find. No sign to long entrance road. Restaurant named Apple Kitchen at entrance was great and very inexpensive. I’m 80 and my wife is 83. They gave us the top floor with no elevator. Steps are uneven in height so be careful. A real workout. Breaks my heart to see the wood rotting from neglect. Next resort is Lagoon Prince. Stayed here many times. Old resort, good value, closer to ferry. White Sand Beach is great at night. Food up the beach at Soul & Sand is excellent. Every resort on the beach has a good vibe. From high end to very economy.

Ko chang is a hidden jewel, lots to do and see with other amazing islands to visit. Worth 4 nights stay on anyones itenary. Good viewpoints beaches and bars, much more laid back than pattaya but still things to do. We ve enjoyed the island and would come again

Ko Chang has no real central beach and on those beaches, there is no real central area; it's a bunch of hotel along the road. Nothing like Koh Samui. The beaches are very far apart and Lonely Beach is pretty run down, so choose wisely.

We hired bicycles for 100 baht near Centara and we could cycle to the waterfall and to visit some other beaches. It is not cheap to get around, 6km was 150 each so 300 baht for 2. We stayed at Bailan beach hotel which was nice and small and intimate with a few other restaurants nearby. We walked about 1km north and south of Bailan beach but the roads are not so safe for walking there. Near Centara the roads are wider with a cycle path.

I've been to kie bae, koh chang many times since 2006 and...

I've been to kie bae, koh chang many times since 2006 and enjoyed most of the time . This time however I would give it 3 out of 10. Apart from it been too commercialised, it is very dirty. Hope it gets cleaner for the future.

I'd love to actually be able to leave a fair review but as on arrival I was told they were full despite my booking being made some 6/8 weeks in advance, I was then dumped in a nasty hotel a little further down the road, my request for a refund was refused by the ladies at the hotel who told me I'd have to walk back up the road in 85 degrees heat, so I sorted myself out elsewhere. One to avoid in the future if they can't honour a booking made well in advance.

Hotel staff is wonderful and helpful. Was worried at first cause of other reviews, but there was no reason. And the tiny houses amazing, with small pools. Everything was very clean. Beds are super comfortable. Hotel is situated at the edge of the village, but everything is in walking distance. Same with sandy beach.

Nice hotel with access to the pool. The beach is great with warm hotel and quite big to take a walk. The breakfast is not bad, similar all around Thailand. The room was spacious and the comfortable. We even book one more night on it.
