Nice place to visit, but don't bother staying overnight if...
Nice place to visit, but don't bother staying overnight if you enjoy travelling around many different places. We stayed 2 nights and were back in Taipei by mid afternoon of checkout day. I recommend having a car/bike because walking around mountainous areas is tiring, especially when it's raining. Food here is excellent.

We really only walked to old town one day as we spent a lot...
We really only walked to old town one day as we spent a lot of time in the hotel and in the hotel spa. However, in one day we in the village we had great street food, took a tram up the mountain, took a vintage train ride, went for a long walk, and we loved our hotel Volando Urai.
We didn't get a chance to go to the indigenous museum which looked great. We will visit Wulai again!

The staff are very kind, bed was amazing, the spa area was to die for.
Dinner included was hot pot ( very yummy!) And breakfast to choose from Chinese ( best one) to Western style.
The room was everything we dreamed of , had a spa bath with hot spring water overlooking the mountains and river.

The apartment was ready one hour before the original check-in time. It was very clean, the staff was very helpful and tried to communicate in English. The hot springs were also very relaxing.

It was great to have our own private hot spring soaking bath on the balcony, breakfast is provided, room is big, but overall facilities are not quite as nice as the pictures suggest

sulphur hot springs is life danger when it is in the personal room. if I sleep, I die slowly without notice of sulphur. I had to open window even though cold outside
