What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

Fresh seafood, flavorful local dishes, and a variety of international options were all beautifully prepared. Every meal felt like a celebration of the region’s rich culinary heritage. Bawe Island is a peaceful paradise that offers a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and natural beauty. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or just a quiet place to unwind, this island is a top choice. It truly exceeded all our expectations, and we can't wait to return!

I arrived a day later than planned due to a flight delay and although my booking for the missed night was not refundable they gave me a room for free for another night. That was really very nice :-). The hotel itself has the perfect location in stone town and is beautifully kept in traditional Zanzibar style. The staff is also very friendly..
