What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

I could say many things about this amazing property, starting with the beautiful rooms and the constant assistance by its super kind staff but to be honest I was particularly impressed by the location that is a real wonder of nature: this place is a paradise. I was upgraded in a Suite and I could enjoy one of the best sunset I can remember in recent times, not to mention the pristine beach. One special mention to the chef who assisted us personally and prepared some unforgettable Italian "spaghetti ai frutti di mare"!

Tembo is such a beautiful hotel with welcoming staff and clean areas. The rooms were huge, well ventilated and had a lot of mirrors because why not? The bathroom was very clean which was relaxing because we had been flying for long and needed a nice bath. The hotel also has a nice proximity to the airport and other places we wanted to visit in stone town and I definitely recommend it.

The staff at Shaba hotel were exceptionally kind and helpful, and always with a smile (one kind staff member was even named Happiness, and she was definitely happy every time I saw her!) :) I love the centrality of Shaba hotel and where it was located within the windy streets of Stonetown. The breakfast was elaborate and yummy. I also appreciated being able to leave my bag downstairs when I checked in early/checked out late, and the staff even let me borrow an umbrella when unexpected rain came, as well as helped me print my ferry ticket. They were just simply amazing. I also really loved the room (I upgraded to the larger room), the style was beautiful and the room was very clean. Everything was great at this hotel and I will definitely be back.
