FAQs about hotels in Lviv

Prestigious City of Intellect and Culture

Lviv has so much cultural heritage that words hardly do it justice. It was under Polish, Habsburg and Soviet rule before rejoining Ukraine, and all have left dramatic marks. No fewer than 5 cathedrals grace cobbled streets with attractive parks and elegant buildings worthy of Vienna.

Potocki Palace is a grand former nobleman’s home and the Palace of Siemienski-Lewickis is equally impressive. Kornyakt Palace is a Renaissance jewel that became a royal residence, and the Ensemble of Ruska Street is an eclectic collection of buildings contributing to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic centre.

Lviv University is Ukraine’s oldest and was part of an intellectual circle attracting immigrants which earned the city the nickname of ‘Little Paris’. Shevchenka Avenue is named after Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko and a statue of him sits on a square housing the celebrated Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet and Lviv National Museum.

The town hall on Market Square is surrounded by colourful buildings housing shops and cafes, and the castle ruins overlook all of this from High Castle Park.

This is just a snapshot of what the city offers and Booking.com’s great accommodation range helps you discover this and more. The luxury city centre hotels, cheap hostels and apartments near Arena Lviv Euro 2012 football stadium are all easily accessible from the airport.

Beautiful. Shops and Open Air Market, surround the Hotel.

Beautiful. Shops and Open Air Market, surround the Hotel. Recommend Bolt app, for Taxis and Food Deliveries. The War was in progress, so I advise download of Air Raid alert app. Try the `Meat and Justice` restaurant, difficult to find, as it is in an enclosed area of old Prison. Its a vibrant City, but you wont be disapointed. Clean and Litter free.

In my opinion, the most beautiful and vibrant city in Ukraine is Lviv! Even now, during war, it is gorgeous! Friendly local People and rich history are two things that are stand out. Restaurants and cozy small cafes all over center simply unforgettable! Absolutely stunning theatre where we were happy to see ballet Solaris during our stay.

Lviv has so many beautiful churches - beautiful and very old. There are plenty of cultural/intellectual activities and shopping for those who like that. Civic life is vibrant. So much history; charming architecture, on a human scale. Oddly, very few handrails.

Ok lets be straight up - Ukraine is at War and the russians have no barriers to attacking civilian areas. HOWEVER I have stayed twice in Lviv and it is a vibrant busy city, comparable with any other city breaks throughout Europe. I have experienced Air Alerts there which are chilling for some one who lives safely in UK, but the Ukrainians check their Apps, guage the advice and just continue on. I suspect that Lviv being so close to the Polish border makes it safer than other more central / Eastern ukrainian cities. This is a tough one, at present i would hesitate to take my family there - only because of the russian aggression, however, as i sit with a Latte and croissant on a sunny tuesday morning watching the world go by, i keep reconsidering. This is a city and a country that deserves support, and faith, i will be back and one day my family and i will be back in a beautiful Ukrainian Lviv. Slava Ukraini

1. The view! Wow, it was amazing! This was definitely the best feature of this hotel. We stayed in our room in the morning with a coffee, lounging in chairs by the windows, taking in the veiw. We had a 4th floor room and then a 5th floor room, and both had a great view. 2. Location - right on the edge of the city center. We came to spend a few days in the city center and couldn't ask for a better location. We walked everywhere 3. Clean and cozy 4. Very friendly staff Highly recommend

Olya, the manager, was absolutely the best I have dealt with in three years of staying in hotels in Ukraine. She was immediately responsive to everything and happy to be of service, and all this kindness in the middle of a war makes it even more pleasurable. The price was very good for 2 bedrooms and was exactly in the middle of the city so there is no problem obtaining anything. There are a huge number of four star restaurants within five minutes.
