The lady at the front desk was amazing and very personal in a good way. She asked if we're wee attending the convention across the street and she was happy we chose to stay where we stayed for it. She was just a very genuinely kind person. Also the movie theater strategically existing right next to the hotel very good.

I would definitly book this hotel again! The room and the complete hotel in general was VERY clean and cosy. Perfect location on our way up north to Buffalo NY. The stuff (especially Kevin from the front desk) was extremly friendly and engaged to please! There were so many little details, which made the stay so special: like the comfy sitting area in the room in front of the window, the view per se, the extra outlet at the long table, the different lightning options in the room, the little lemonjuice packages at the coffe area, the matresses not too firm and not too soft. The interieur overall is well designed. The breakfast room has plenty of tables, which is quite rare in hotels in the US. It was by far the best accomodation during our road trip! I can recommend this hotel and the chain Microtel by Wyndham in general! We did enjoy our stay.

Love going to Altoona each year for holiday shopping.

Love going to Altoona each year for holiday shopping. There are so many stores and restaurants closely located and easy to get to. Most of the stores have great holiday sales and discounts going on that you can really save on also. It is a great small town with a big town feel. There is a wonderful drive-thru light display at the local amusement park each holiday season that is great for the whole family to enjoy with a gift shop. A great shopping experience in the spring/summertime also. You can spend the day shopping and eating with your choice of many restaurants to choose from.

After just being in NYC and DC we loved the quiet and...

After just being in NYC and DC we loved the quiet and peaceful in Altoona. People are genuinely nice and friendly. It’s beautiful and far from the crowd, not much happenings but definitely a good place to detox. We came to stay overnight on our drive to Niagara Falls. All of us loved the atmosphere here and we didn’t want to move on! You will find yourself back here!

Altoona is a wonderful city, with lots to do and great food...

Altoona is a wonderful city, with lots to do and great food to eat. There are so many neat old buildings to see and numerous family friendly activities to do. The food options is Altoona are amazing. Altoona also has the BEST ice cream and milkshakes at The Meadows.

Very nice place to stay. The beds were very comfortable. The indoor pool area is nice, and they had a decent breakfast in the morning. The food from the bar/restaurant was pretty good as well. Very nice atmosphere. Looking forward to staying again next time I'm in Altoona.

Nothing great about this hotel at all!

Nothing great about this hotel at all! First off you charge double for a graduation weekend for a hotel that is the worst I've ever stayed in. Our room was suppose to be non -smoking but reeked of smoke and marijuana upon entering. The recliner that was in the room was odd and was dirty! Sheets were stained. Air conditioning did not work. Don't stay here if there are other options available.

We were in Altoona one night, so take that for what it’s worth. It seems like any other blue collar town in that part of the country. Staff at the hotel were very nice. The hotel was okay for an overnight stay. There was nice little mall across the street and a Champs and Cracker Barrel across the parking lot. We decided to get food and drinks within walking distance of the hotel, so went to Champs next door. We’ve never been in one, so we weren’t sure what to expect. It’s a typical locals hang out. It seemed popular. The next morning we skipped the continental breakfast at the hotel and went to Cracker Barrel. The food was good, but our waitress was pretty rude. I know that’s not a reflection of the town, but it seemed much of the staff at that store were rude and short with people. It was crowded though. People seem to still be milking the “mediocrity is okay because of COVID” excuse. Anyway, Altoona appears to be a safe mellow place to stop when you are traveling. I watched a couple YT videos about the town before traveling. Altoona has an interesting history, and is oddly scenic as is much of that part of PA. I think if U lived in Altoona, I’d move.
