Location is perfect.

Location is perfect. Beautiful Claytor Lake State Park is minutes away. Staff have always been pleasant. Wonderful restaurant The Mason Jar is a 1 minute drive. Challenging during these times of much construction but NO regrets here because we understand progress takes time and better facilities ahead for our future family reunions.

Staff is great, bed was comfortable, appliances all worked, room was clean, convenient to 81, convenience store and waffle house & burger king right next door. Rooms are dated and need updates, AC was extremely loud, but is a safe secure place to get off the road, sleep and bath at a good price

The building was in the process of upgrading.

The building was in the process of upgrading. Significantly the website description did not warn about this - had we known we would not have booked there. Staff were very pleasant but this did not compensate for the poor situation.

The room could use huge update!

The room could use huge update! Coffee pot was dirty, microwave was disgustingly dirty! Holes in walls? Can’t they patch and paint? Carpeting in halls seemed to be worn and dirty. I honestly didn’t feel safe in the room. Note on door and only door that had the note to lift up and push? Why did they give me that room if the door handle was fixed on it????

We especially enjoyed the quiet.

We especially enjoyed the quiet. If you want to go to Dublin, or surrounding cities, it is not that far away. Rockwood Manor is fairly quiet, and stress free. There are pianos, Pool tables, game room, library so there are relaxing things to do at the Manor, so you don't have to go out, if you don't want to.

We DID NOT like ANYTHING about the place. My sister and I refused to stay there after we were checked in to our room at about 9:15 PM. We IMMEDIATELY checked out but hotel wouldn’t refund our payment. Desk person told us we had to contact booking.com for refund because we didn’t book directly with the hotel… even though we didn’t prepay for room on booking.com and paid in full at front desk when we arrived.

The staff was nice and the room was very clean. This is an older hotel with some long term residents. They do offer a limited complimentary breakfast. It was a pleasant stay near lots of restaurants and the rates were fair.

After calling the hotel and asking if the swimming pool was open and being told yes it was closed. The water in the shower barely warm and did not get any warmer. The staff to say the least was unhelpful and rude.
