Etlan is a nice place if you like to be in the middle of nowhere. The sights are beautiful and it's very peaceful. There's not much out there other than pretty views and one very old little country store (which has very good burgers and hot dogs by the way).

Etlan is a postal designation, not a town as such, so there's nothing to like or dislike. We did spend time in Sperryville (which has several farm markets, a small high-end grocery store, and a very few eateries), and Culpeper, which has lots of places to eat and shop. They are each about half an hour drive away.
